The clear labeling is very helpful. Thx
By using the "single shot" and "single shot reset" and sync options within the Normal section, am I understanding correctly that the Modulator shape (whose points ARE automateable unlike those in the custom shape ADSR within the Envelope section) essentially then becomes a custom envelope whose total length is always locked to that tempo based increment regardless of tempo changes (unlike tempo options in the envelope section that can shift if temp changes dramatically), and which always retriggers for that period starting at the beginning of that envelope regardless of when it is triggered?
If that's the case, it appears that I've been using the envelope section when I should have been using the normal section with the settings you have enabled, as it better reflects the bahavior I'm looking for, and appears to solve several issues I was having trying to force that behavior in the envelope window... PLUS all the MIDI triggering options which appear to be available in the Normal window, but not the Envelope window.
Still wrapping my head around a few things. My use case is a bit different in that I'd be using it to process a bus that contains everything except the vocals, so not quite clear yet if the transformer filtering on kick/snare MIDI inputs solves all mute/solo issues in such a case. Amazing to me that I have never once come across anyone proposing this solution to the mute/solo issue. I also only skimmed the MIDI options in MXXX since it's rather deep, and I wasn't using it. Looks like I'm going to have to read up on that as well.
SUPER helpful. Thank you so much.

Glad to be of help. I've been learning as well.
The single shot in Normal mode does lock to host tempo as far as length is concerned, unless you switch to the Frequency tab, in which case it's an absolute value independent of the host. The triggering is from the start of the LFO shape unless you adjust the phase control.

Yeah, I've been playing with it and noticed that about the phase.
Kicking my own keister for wasting days now trying to force the custom envelope to behave in exactly this way.
There's actually additional benefits as well like the fact that the custom drawn points in this section can be automated whereas they can't in the envelope section, and doing it in this window also allows positive and negative envelope influence. In all, it solves 3 separate problems I was having the other way. I was aware of some of that, but had thought I needed to use the envelope section for other reasons. It makes much more sense to me now to see there is a way to do things that behaves exactly as I might expect.
It's probably one of those things that was covered in materials I watched/read, yet I glossed over since it didn't fit what I was focused on at the moment.
Looks like I'm going to have to go back and redo half of the plugin I just designed in the other window... though unless I'm missing something, it should now behave exactly as intended.
Add in the MIDI triggering flexibility, and solo/mute fix, and I'd say things just got a LOT more promising (and a lot less frustrating).
