Is there a limit on plugins for the Master Channel?

Again, you can have an unlimited number of plugins in racks. And opening a plugin in a rack is in about 2 double clicks. Harsh to say it's in beta because of this one issue.
Linux version?

How do you do that, when you can have only 4 on the Master to begin with?spoontechnique wrote:Again, you can have an unlimited number of plugins in racks. And opening a plugin in a rack is in about 2 double clicks. Harsh to say it's in beta because of this one issue.

Well thats why I think 6 would be great.dRowAudio wrote:You can do this with a vol/pan plugin?alejandrozalaquett wrote:6 would be great!dRowAudio wrote:How many plugins are people using? If I increase this to 6 would that help?
The main problem is the space for UI gets a bit cramped with more than 4...
It would also be great to have a master level meter before the master section.
Thanks for the great work!
Actually I insert a Level Meter in the master section (just to check peaks after proccessing the stereo master) and I have only 3 additional slots for processing (EQ, Saturation, MB Dynamics, Limiter, M/S Processing, Reverb, etc)

I think adding metering and analyzer plugins to the master is a valid reason for more plugin slots.
For purely active plugins on the master though, why would you need more than an EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Saturation?

As of right now I have 4 plugins in 1 wrapper and 3 in another. The system won't let me add another. No, I don't think BETA is an unfair assessment at all. This is ridiculously UN-user friendly.

for purely active plugins, you are absolutely right.zzz00m wrote:...

but working on things, comparing plugins, experimenting with plugin-chains, ... is not a "pure" thing. it's a workbench where you need some space sometimes to toss things around.

there is a second workaround:kevinwayne wrote:As of right now I have 4 plugins in 1 wrapper and 3 in another. The system won't let me add another. No, I don't think BETA is an unfair assessment at all. This is ridiculously UN-user friendly.
you can insert a normal track into the project and call it "master". then select all your tracks in the project and in the properties-panel set the output to your "master"-track. then insert your plugins there, there is no limit then.
the master-section is still valuable as a place for the limiter and LUFS-meter as last things in the chain.

LOL I was just about to post what Klangbastler said. Also make it a Template, then you don't have to set it up again for every project.

Thanks for the tips, I'll look into those later. Right now: Can someone please tell me how to split or resize a recorded item? So I don't have to have one old take coming in at the same times as a new. Thanks.

NEVERMIND: Found Split Tracks. That'll do for now, thanks anyway.

Well the idea is if you want to use more put them in a rack, which has unlimited space and bonus, also enables you to use more complex routing schemes, and allows you to save your chain for reuse. Because people do often reuse the same few mastering plugins once they have a setup they know works, particularly metering tools, so this saves time and is much more flexible than just expanding how many plugins can go in the master track, you could even have several saved racks for different sets of tools (eg a metering rack etc). Besides if they make it 6 then sooner or later someone is going to complain about that too, the whole point of racks was to get past the limitations of traditional slot based mixers.kevinwayne wrote:So I'd have to have Reaper open in order to route plugins to the Master track on Tracktion?whyterabbyt wrote:plugins like Nugen Sigmod and Reastream allow you to route audio completely freely to a second 'receiver' plugin
This is patently absurd and a design flaw. As far as I'm concerned, all versions of Tracktion & Waveform are Beta until this problem is rectified with a better system. I already have Reaper, why would I want to use it to support another platform?

Yes that too - you can designate any track as a master functionally - plus there are also sends to play with.klangbastler wrote:there is a second workaround:kevinwayne wrote:As of right now I have 4 plugins in 1 wrapper and 3 in another. And faceplates for racks.
