when programming plugins I can't say my logs have ever shown too much gibberish being sent by Tracktion to my plugs.
Most of the gibberish that does get there can be traced back to my Korg Prophecy, which I use as a control keyboard, throwing out copious amounts of meaningless crap to anything that will listen. Hand built MIDI clips do not exhibit the same issues.
MIDI Import is broken in a number of interesting ways, so if you import a MIDI file into Tracktion you may well see very different results.

See its posts like these that are really weird, I mean if I was considering buying tracktion, I would be so scared as to choose it. I think this mindless bashing should either be elaborated, precise, or not mentioned at all.

Because it's NOT so bad. You've already reached the correct assumption.

"Catastrophe"
What the hell are you al doing to get Tracktion to behave like a catastrophe? It's the most stable software i have EVER used. The midi also behaves well on my set-up. Check your plugins, cause T is far from disastrous.
I have noticed a bug though on the Little Greenamp freebie. When a track ends with this plugin on it, i get a strange fault "dissertion failed" or something. But it's the Greenmachine-plug, not Tracktion, i'm sure of that.

Weird, I used the Little Green Amp a fair amount, and never got that. Well, I didn't have any problems from Tracktion, either.

"assertion" by any chance?MelodyMan wrote:"dissertion failed"
typically means that a function was called that didn;t seem to exist.

ok, sorry if i hasn't stated it clear enough. I havn't got the time finding out what exactly is the problem with midi in tracktion, but i now there are problems. if its only when i import or export midi it IS a problem because i use it often (importing mididrum tracks...). i mentioned problems monthes ago on importing some midifiles and i have send them to jules! problems still exist. (reminds me of the "first midinote isn't played in loopmode"). I haven't said Tracktion is bad !! i bought it because I'm happy on using it. but i don't like what happens to it after "mackie". i don't have the feeling bugfixes are important anymore. "go get T2 if you wan't completely working midi !"
i wan't to import and export midi and midi that's generated by vst plugins because that's a feature of T1 and not only an option that maybe sometimes work and sometimes not.
even with tracktions own minisampler you'll get CPU peaks on overlapping notes (and overlapping notes are sometimes created be tracktion himself). try it. i can reproduce it here and have also mentioned it monthes ago (not only once). thought it's a problem whit the sampler but can also be a problem with the midihandling.
if things were like a year ago when jules stopped by and bugs where fixed after someone mentioned them, i would spend more time in finding out what's the exact problem is, but now that we aren't envoled anymore in the process and no feedback is given...

if things were like a year ago then Jules would never get f**king rich
dont get me wrong i dont think Jules is in this entirly for the money
but f**k me it plays a big part
personally i say go the f**k on son and make a f**king mint
all this bullshit i keep hearing about how terrible it is for tracktion users now mackie have taken over just goes to show how people dont really think about anything but themselves
basically you want Jules to be our own private little developer who sits waiting for bug reports so he can fix em
sorry wrong that bad motherf**ker supplied us with the snazziest f**king host available oh and i use XT aswell so dont take this statement lightly
and Mackie have decided they want to sell and market it FOR HIM
whats the f**king problem
it seems theres too many tosspots around here scared that T is going to have a shitload more users
is it because you think you wont get your say
oh and dont think that Jules doesnt look on KVR at requests and bug reports course he f**king does
hes just not as vocal about it as he used to be
and all bugs are taken seriously and will be fixed
Mackie havent taken over there selling the f**king software
how many f**king times has this got to be said
sorry my man but im not having a go at you personally just this fear and hatred of Mackies involvement in general
Mackie must be doing something right cause in my lifetime they have gone from being a pissant company with one product to one of THE major players in the music technology field
sorry for the long post but im fed up with reading the same shit over and over again
if you have a bug report report it
and then forget about it it isnt going to be fixed in 24 hrs
it'll be fixed like any normal company
when its f**king fixed
this place is starting to piss me off
hasn't anybody got any positive thoughts on Mackie
ah f**k it
