I haven't seen 5 of these movies.
It's a guy thing, it isn't for me.
I saw Live and Let Die actually just to hear the McCartney theme song.
I think it was Diamonds are Forever my father and I went to when I was... young.
I don't remember the theme. The one other one I remember "Nobody Does it Better" from just around, it was a big hit.
I saw a recent one on TV, with the new Bond. That's 3. There's nothing to identify with particularly for me. And I like spy movies, a lot.

As D Millard sang, James Bond is an upper class copper. If you met someone like that you would think they were a tosser.

Worse, he's a hitman for the ruling class, who sleeps with women then murders them, total psychopath.donkey tugger wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:32 pm As D Millard sang, James Bond is an upper class copper. If you met someone like that you would think they were a tosser.

Ah, but "ruling class" does almost rhyme with "psychopath," so make of that what you will...donkey tugger wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:34 pmDoesn't rhyme (almost) with tosser though.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:33 pmWorse, he's a hitman for the ruling classdonkey tugger wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:32 pm As D Millard sang, James Bond is an upper class copper. Aside from the original Monty Norman version, the only Bond themes that stick in my head are the John Barry ones. That's not to say that I like them all, but they do basically define the "spy movie music" genre for me (along with Lalo Schifrin's Mission Impossible theme, I guess).

It's a fair point. If you were posh you could also rhyme 'class' with 'arse'cthonophonic wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 7:00 pmAh, but "ruling class" does almost rhyme with "psychopath," so make of that what you will...donkey tugger wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:34 pmDoesn't rhyme (almost) with tosser though.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:33 pmWorse, he's a hitman for the ruling classdonkey tugger wrote: Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:32 pm As D Millard sang, James Bond is an upper class copper. Well, James Bond is certainly known to be something of a macho cliché. However, the producers are well aware of that. In 1995 Judi Dench took the role as M, Bond's superior, as the first woman ever, in Golden Eye. At some point in the movie, she calls Bond a "sexist, misogynist dinosaur..a relic of the Cold War"
Some spot on self irony there.
