I was thinking about this last night and getting concerned that the factory content (as opposed to third party content) would be blocked from being opened in full edit. I hope that is not the intent. If I paid for a full version, I would be very angry if I could not get in an look at or tweak the instruments.MeldaProduction wrote: Mon Apr 29, 2019 12:45 pm All correct, right now it is like this for sake of backwards compatibility. But from the final release it won't be possible to use the ctrl+shift+alt hack anymore, so that people cannot open closed stuff for future 3rd party devices.
Even with third party content, what really needs to be protected are any proprietary sample sets, and even those should be available to use in other MSF-based user-created sounds. They do need to be protected from being repurposed for use on other sample-player devices, of course. On Kontakt, for instance, you can use any samples that came from anywhere to create new instruments on your own machine. I would think MSF would not need to be more restrictive than that.
