Thank you valley!!
I tried to manualy stretch the clip but it don't stretch any more, but, based in your theory I recorded an overdub of silence at the end of the clip and now the rendering is working great.

Thanks again Valley. :)

Have done a few experiments re background noise problems when rendering, and can't find an explanation:

1. 2 audio tracks being rendered - 2 acoustic guitars recorded in identical conditions. There is a feint background hiss caused by a high input gain, and emphasised by a little high eq'ing. Both tracks are half panned to the left and go into a third with a little compression, chorus and Ambience.

2. When tracks are rendered raw (i.e. without the third effects buss), quality is reduced - hiss is converted to a more audible static. (which is further emphasised when passed through the compression)

3. However, when tracks are rendered with the effects buss, rendered track is identical to original

:?: :?:

i'd like to try to solve this if possible, as I don't always want to render with effects processing (less flexibility later).

any ideas?

You mean using the render track dialogue, or the export wave dialogue?

ah, that's an idea. I used the the render track dialogue and didn't try export. Main reason was simply to tidy up overdubs, rendering to another track.

Render track renders at the volume of the track. If there's clipping (watch the VU meter) then your wave file will be distorted, whereas with the export audio option you have options to avoid clipping.
