:o I hadn't thought of this- Bitwig- launch now or never!!

I was also happening I can 'network' 2 computers for double the processing power (a la FXTeleport) if that is the case then this will be useful to far more people than collaborators...

I'm surprised to see so that so many people have no interest in this feature. For me it was one of the most interesting selling points of the original roadmap, and I think I'd use it extensively.

I know several other producers who are interested in switching over to Bitwig (or at least giving it a try) - I think if they had a chance to work live on projects with an experienced Bitwig user such as myself this would hugely increase the probability of them buying a licence and giving it a proper go.

It could also open up a whole new world of production teaching/learning - get on Skype/Discord or something and supervise a student with their session, making changes live and explaining what you're doing in the context of their song. Having a more experienced producer making changes to your music in real time could really help bake in certain concepts much faster than watching a video on someone trying to explain e.g. compression on a sound or instrument that you would never actually use yourself.

It would also give Bitwig a big edge over direct competitors. Minor 'bolt on' features are easy for other DAWs to implement after they see Bitwig doing something cleverly, but something like networking that's baked deep into the design of the software (if this is indeed true), is basically impossible to copy at short notice.

Nah

This feature would be really useful for a lot of people, including me.
If the implementation is good in a Bitwig way I think, this could be a game changer.

The thing I would love to see are macro's, to build custom key commands and put them in Stream Deck or something like that...

100% agree. It was one of the features that swung the decision when deciding between BW and Live. Right now, I'm collaborating non-real-time via projects on Dropbox. It works the ability to work on the same project simultaneously (if that is what's planned) would be awesome.

No, I wouldn't use it therefore any time dedicated by the devs to implement it is lost (for me, from my point of view, etc.).

That would be immense. I will try Ohm Studio for now.

Come on, Bitwig, do this already.

Same, I have several bandmates from various projects and none of them are very close by at all. 30 to 800 miles away. iCloud etc. works, and it makes it DAW independent but built in would be much much better.

A good collaboration tool needs to be platform and DAW independent. I wonder if this is doable....

Stems and Midi are about it!

I suspect collaboration in Bitwig will be about sharing Bitwig stuff, grid etc. I was hoping (as it was talking about network collaboration) it may be real time or that you can network several computers and share the processing....

It's Bitwig- expect the unexpected!

When they had the 'upcoming collaboration features' in on their website (I think during version 1), there was written something concerning both aspects: network sync (real-time jamming) and online collaboration (like working together on projects over internet).

But I don't know what their current plans are concerning those features. Obviously they removed the texts from their website (maybe because things went slower than customers expected). Maybe they consider the Ableton Link integration as the network sync feature already done (?). Would be really cool to hear something about that topic from Bitwig officially!

Iam open for any direction Bitwig goes. The collab thing could be a game changer if done right. We compare it only with DAW/plugins which are already on the market. Maybe its something new, idea wise. I really like the direction with bitwig. Happy user since 1.x and it gets better with every update. Never could I change to another DAW. When collab gets intrudced I think its like bitwig 3 with the Grid.

I'm happy avoiding other people's stupid ideas holding me back, but for people needing the process of making music to be 'social' this might be something.
So the BS devs can do some interesting stuff instead?
