tried it again and the red check keeps appearing! f**k is macros always this hard? i have never tried doing this stuff. (mainly because i'm sixty two! lol!) guys thank you for your help, but it's not working. i guess i just continue to mouse click these commands...

I believe the red checkmark means there is a syntax error - something in the text you entered is incorrect or misplaced; go back and compare it carefully to what was provided and make sure it matches *exactly* - note that these macros are written in the completely horrible ECMAScript (JavaScript) language which is CASE SENSITIVE (as are many scripting languages and other types of programming languages) so capitalization matters, as do punctuation marks. In some cases adding a space in the wrong place could cause problems too.

i have done this exactly as i see it and everything's fine until i hit the first part of the parenthesis and the red x appears. i have tried this 10 f@%ing times!! is there any other way to get these 3 simple shortcuts without this hassle?

this is to drowaudio: is there any other way to get these 3 little commands without having to be a computer programmer? i love waveform for it's simplicity and common sense approach to music making but, i have trying for 2 days to write this simple command and nothing is working! it's ironic i have a phd. and i cant' even create a simple macro! lol!

You should be able to drag the image into a new post (same box you type the text in).

If it doesn't work right away try switching to the full editor (button below the text box in the simple editor).

got it to the green check and saved it to ctrl 1 but it still doesn't work. is there a save key after assigning the ctrl 1?

i change parenthesis to brackets and it worked but when i tried it it didn't work in the sequencer

The brackets won't work - that means something different from the parenthesis. Again, capitalization matters: "showSidepanel" should be "showSidePanel". Note the capital letter "P" instead of the lowercase "p".

when i correct what tou said and change the brackets to parenthesis, the red x appears, but everything's green with the brackets.

finally! got it1 but when i go to the sequencer and hit the command i made for it ctrl 1 nothing happens. is the macro hidden? or something?
