Actually another #nobrainer ...Maybe just not now in these corona - days.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

I'll buy two with that delicious intro price.

PA looking to get more subs, by increasing the price of their plugins, eh? Nice try...

No one will ever notice that clever move. lol

Oh so cheap I must grab one. For to two I can get a good middle price range guitar instead. :dog: Just wait until it goes for 49.99 eventually on some occasion. Just like Waves plugins do but for 29$.

Indeed! Shows me I entirely don’t need to bother with this.. and that PA is just gonna churn out emulations like this forever.

No normal person will buy this at those prices when you have pro-q3, slate infinity, crave eq, equilibrium at cheaper prices and on 2nd hand market for even less money you get 10x more capable eqs.

if you mean "no-brainer" in the sense that nobody with a brain would buy this for 299$ then yes

i mean, they at first only offered it in subscriptions, but after the outcry on the group, "dirk backtracked because he loves his customers" and offered a perma license.
And obviously, the price hike on it is just a coincidence, not at all an attempt to coerce you into subscriptions.

That's not who they're targeting. They use hyperbolic advertisements and boutique (actual boutique developers have sensible pricing, funnily enough) prices to convince idiots that they're buying something next-level. When they've reeled those suckers in it they can just move on to the next phase of using that initial price to serve as an achor for sales prices. 70€ for this would seem over the top if the normal price was 100€, right? But not if the usual price is 500€ You get my point. It's basically just what Waves used to do, but taken to the point of absurdity.

Now if you'll excuse me I'll go buy Softube's Weiss EQ so I can inject some true artisanal code into the dancehall track I'm mastering, otherwise it'll never be chart-ready.

You guys complaining about the price should be happy that the mighty Alliance lets you buy this HIGH END plugin at all! So kneel down and read this excerpt of one of the last newsletters from Dirk "Delaware Tax haven" Ulrich:

We announced earlier today that the new AMEK EQ200 would not be available separately upon its launch on May 19. We had lately indeed planned to make this high-end plugin available via our cost-effective rental bundles only.

BUT... some users on facebook have made me aware of the fact that we had sent out promotional emails earlier this month already, with a $25 voucher, and the promise to let you buy the new May releases (incl. the AMEK) using your voucher.

I actually, didn't know Dirk did that. Denying it at first to his paying customers. What a complete cretin. :x

I find it very hard to buy plugins from devs who treat their costumers like shit.

Those comments on PA Group on FB... It's amazing how dopamine boost (after someone bought or demo new shiny toy) can cheat people to think that they just got the most amazing thing ever created by human... sorry by a god. Game changer, absolute killer!

That thing could impress 10 years ago but today we have so many excellent plugins that paying that price for a plugin that maybe is 1% 'better' than others is totally insane.
But we live in insane times so...

Fortunately, no one truly needs another EQ, so it's easy to wait until Black Friday when it'll probably be $50.

He commented that it's subscription only and then a few hours later he revealed that it was a mistake/ an error. Totally not surprising that boss of the company doesn't know in which way his product will be available to buy

only ever heard the Sontec through things i've had mastered by other studios and i don't ever remember it being this soft sounding.i found it impressive how it sounded like it lazer etched out the transients but didn't skew the balance anywhere, but not getting that at all from this.if anybody was looking for something comparable that does that "lazer etched"focus in the transients that Weiss offering from Softube gets in the ballpark.i know, similar price point but,you can't argue when it seems to be bit for bit identical with the real deal

Pass.i have enough plugin EQ's that can blur things already

My crystal ball says...

"Less than 6 months from now it will be $49 and you can apply a $25 voucher...
...and then you'll buy...
...and then you'll try it...
...and the dust will accumulate over the weeks, months...
...and then you'll list it on KvR Buy & Sell...
...and you may recoup part of the $25 you threw down the toilet..
...but you'll never get the time you wasted back."
“In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.”
