If Behringer was making these, it would cost 50 euros.chk071 wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 5:33 pmSomeone made the right comment...Septimon wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 5:13 pm Something like this?

Yeah, and that's basically selective quoting.declassified wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 3:45 pmA plug-in can talk directly to the OS, at least on macOS. I haven't tried it on Windows, but would expect it to work there as well. It can check which MIDI hardware is connected, open MIDI inputs and outputs and send/receive MIDI directly from them just like a normal application, without help from the host.whyterabbyt wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 3:14 pm Plugins dont talk to the outside world at all. They dont see hardware devices, and they dont access them directly.
Im aware that there are plugins which have done this, but their problem was always 'ownership' conflicts on MIDI ports, because its not intrinsic to any plugin API.whyterabbyt wrote:To change that, you'd need to add very nonstandard stuff to the plugin, stuff that would probably conflict with the host.
Very cool! probably, very expensive, as well!Septimon wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 5:13 pm Something like this?

Novations ReMOTE SL keyboard controllers have templates built-in for many popular software synths ...roman.i wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 2:58 pm Think of a Novation Peak, but the sound engine is in the plugin, and the hardware is only a controller.
Did the amount of templates diminish over the years? I think I only had one MIDI controller which has 20 templates overall, and, most of the newer ones have much less than that.thecontrolcentre wrote: Sun Oct 16, 2022 4:09 pmNovations ReMOTE SL keyboard controllers have templates built-in for many popular software synths ...roman.i wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 2:58 pm Think of a Novation Peak, but the sound engine is in the plugin, and the hardware is only a controller.

It's real easy to setup up a user template for any other soft synth (or hardware) not included in the list.
They look great, especially Electra ... both unoptanium at the moment
