Yes, this time it worked if I disable the experimental engine. Whew! For info though, you should be able to use the old engine by simply disabling the "Enable experimental engine" option on the "General Behaviour" settings tab. Does that at least give you the same behaviour as the release version?
I'll do more testing, since, in previous builds, sometimes things didn't always seem to "stick". In fact, after disabling it and then re-enabling it just now, the rest of the tracks kept playing even when I enabled an insert (which is the opposite of before). I'll see if I can at least say which combination of actions (engine + insert) maybe don't seem to work.
Have to get back to my day job now, though
