Yeah, and they'll die from Coke more often than Pepsi. :(

So far, it look like Live is the software to watch of the next 6 months time. Already at v4.0, Live is making an impact. :)

I need a bunch of opinions & facts on the next software that you think can make this the big 5 and why.

Personally, soft studios shouldn't count because by nature, they can work with or against sequencers. But of some, you love options :!: :!: :!: :)

Uhhh LOL!

Protools isnt one of the big boys? Samplitude isnt? More people use cooledit Id imagine than almost anything up there. (non-musicians use it too! a lot of them).

but tracktion is eh?

This is hilarious :)
As I type this (9:30pm CST), I don't see a single vote for Pro-Tools yet.

But SAW studio got a vote. I'll be damn. :!: :!: 8)

I would imagine that it would be difficult for Massiva to ever challenge the big boys, what with it being discontinued and all.

I mean, seriously, where have you been? Massiva has been discontinued for many, many moons.

First of all, I'll say that it's hard to determine the "big 3" or the "big 4" because there are so many needs and so much difference from one app to another.

I do think Tracktion should be included as one of the top choices, only because of how fast it's grown and it's feature set IMO is better than most. Anyone who laughs because Tracktion is there has that right, but I would dare say that most who do so haven't REALLY tried Tracktion out. It's more powerful than most outsiders think. And hey, no matter what you think of CM, it did overturn Logic in the 3rd position on reader's choice votes. But in all honesty, it's got a long way to go. T2 should be a huge step.

Also, I don't think Tracktion is right for everyone, as no program is. I wouldn't recommend Tracktion to everyone. Any number of sequencers could be included in the top of the list, as there are so many options out there. Maybe it would be a better poll to say what the top 3 are besides the real top 3, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, the music is what's important. We all know that. Keep it real!

I mostly use Orion, so I guess I can't participate...

this is the most stupid poll i've seen in a long time. traktion ? surely that's a joke ? you have not done that app any favours by putting it in as a top4 app.

fl & orion must also be in the vote list.

dumb. someone put up a new poll

I'm a loyal Tracktioneer... and people who still haven't figured out how good it is (even if they don't prefer it) really need to take their heads out of their asses.

However...

It is NOT one of the "big 4".

The list on the poll is...

weird.

And more people drive Fords than Ferraris, does that make a Ford a better car?
Tony, nice try but leaving out Pro-Tools quickly made the whole thing absurd. And Cool Edit doesn't support VST or MIDI so it was never in the running.

I always assumed they big status was determined by their big pricetag.

MESSAGE TO ATS:

Go back to page 1 and re-read my intro:

1) Sonar is one of the big 4 to begin with (like dub!!!). :D

2) If soft studios should count, vote on that option please. 8)
