IIRC these plugins do not only contain single note samples, but also all the glides, certain not combinations, certain riffs. And I think I read they have logic in it to determine when to use which combination of samples depending on rhythm, speed, chords, velocity, articulation, ... You're best just using the plugin dedicated devs have spent time in creating and testing, instead of rebuilding something half baked in a general purpose intrument environment. Besides that I don't know if sampling such an instrument to putting it into another may even violate their TOS.

All AAS, Modo (bass and drums), Respiro, Pianoteq, maybe Jussi too. There is SWAM (I do not own but it sounds good in their demos) and GeoShred which is a little too slick for my taste.Underoath77 wrote: Tue Mar 23, 2021 6:13 pm Can you give some examples?magmagwa wrote: Tue Mar 23, 2021 3:28 pm There is the entire world of physical modeling that MSF does not really address.

If you're really into guitar I would highly recommend you try out AAS GS2. This will help you understand guitar. You can pluck single strings, two strings, full chords. They have modeled interstring modulation which really is the heart of the random nature of the electric guitar. You get pure sounds on one note, then amazing modulations when you hit 2/3 etc strings and then it goes into noise. You can get massively different sounds between even just two strings by delaying the notes by just milliseconds...or more. You can really hear the essence of electric guitar in that plugin. Add distortion and it's amazing. Infinite variety that is very unpredictable, ie. the electric guitar.Underoath77 wrote: Wed Mar 24, 2021 9:06 pm I guess I'm not understanding enough of what goes into the electric guitar. I'm wondering if I were to sample this plugin and get every single permutation velocity switch and note if I would be able to import it into msf? I already have enough equalizers and EQ settings to change this guitar and make it sound like any other guitar...I just want it within MSF as an instrument. That's all.

You know that you can also import sfz right? It can often be clearer, to make a file in an editor.
You can automatically sort by velocity and pitch, which is a super advantage.
So what exactly are you missing so you can finish your electric guitar?
Figuring out their chord/strum midi patterns is key to unlocking all the techniques. It's tedious, but you only have to learn it once.
