June was definitely when there was Bitwig sale [ that's when I bought mine ]

Post

Yeah but the beta was already released months before AFAIK.

Post

Waiting for an incentive since Oct 2020.

I guess for people like me that have let their subscriptions lapse but still come here and have a look to see if things have changed enough to go back to using BW?

Same... Been pretty underwhelmed with the updates since then. Give me some incentive to update and I will.

Perhaps I worded it wrong, as it might suggest it's an option for someone who's not anymore interested in Bitwig? Whereas - indeed - it's meant for those whose plan has run out, but are waiting to upgrade as soon as there's new version that interests them :)

One solution: There could be separate macos intel and macos arm builds of Bitwig. And the arm version will cost 20% more for the next 2 years... Or the intel build + win + linux 20% less  You know, ARM mac users for sure don't care so much for money...
Personally I think all Windows users should be taxed for the days of my life I've wasted fixing people I knows messed up Windows instals. Anyone still using an OS that can literally get so corrupted that you need to reinstall it in 2021 is living in a past filled with VHS video stores, feathered hair, and pagers. :hihi:

me too. and no upgrade stashed. no more money for bw for now. i still like it for some gimmicky sound design stuff, and for that it works as is. but as a daw... i have better options that fit my workflow better and i'll stay where the results are for now.

I purchased an upgrade license last June but haven't been compelled to activate it yet.

Yikes, this does not make me confident in Bitwig's future. They haven't been releasing much recently and clearly a lot of people aren't interested in what they have been releasing.

They've released a lot in the last year. You're reading too much into online chatter. New devices Polymer, EQ +, Saturator, plug multiple updated devices and new modulation and filter modules.
It's all right here:

EQ+ and saturator were nearly a year ago (3.2, 03 June 2020). Polymer is a grid synth with a different wrapper although the wavetable module was new that release. Lots of people here at least appear to have let their subscriptions lapse and some have not updated in a pretty long time, implying that the recent features are not very interesting to many.

I think some of their beta testers called me a troll for a friggin Waves plugin... lol... way to go Bitwig! :tu:

Must be some tester... no? :hihi:

I think bw grabs a lot of attention with the grid and the modulation system. and those are really great features. but i think that a lot of people, myself included, after spending some time with it, start noticing that bw falls really short in a lot of features, sometimes basic stuff. personaly, i don't care about the grid. i think it's cool to be there, for the people who take advantage of it but i prefer other virtual modular systems like voltage modular or vcv. in the end, i think they can't play the same cards over and over again (the grid, the modulation system) if they want to attract more users. as good as they are, a daw is not only about a cool modulation system/modular environment. just my $0.02
