Re-register in my post means "register a new account on the new system, if you previously had an account on the old system".
They clearly state during this process, and in all the docs, that the old purchased products won't appear in the new system, nor can you add them aferwards. SSL still have records of your purchase, and you still have licenses in your iLok account. Read the posts above for more detail. Everything is fine - enjoy the new plugin.

It was one of the reasons I jumped on this one so quick - I had the original LMC1 freebie from SSL on the PC, and then also when I moved to the Mac in the early 2000s, but it was PPC only and was abandoned long before the Mac transitioned to Intel, so I could no longer use it.
So as I said, it's nice to have it back, with a swish modern interface and some extra options - but still sounding more or less like I remember...

They had a completely free version with a more limited basic couple knob feature set like 15 years ago to try and tempt people to give thier Mix buss compressor a try with the iLok system. Back when not every single plugin company had a version of their SSL Bus compressor

The whole SSL Listen limiter thing is new to me. Very interesting! I read about how SSL consoles can be modified to use the Listen mic limiter for tracking. Very cool. Thing is, I tried this plugin out and I am not getting good results. I have a feeling that to get the best use of this requires some experience with it. what are some good sources and techniques to try to better understand of the value of this product?

Just compared it to Korneff. To my ears at least, it's not even a contest, Korneff wins easily when put on drums, the SSL craps out straight away without filters and sounds thin, brittle and harsh, like some cheap plug from decade ago.
Korneff, OTOH, sounds thick, smooth, handles signal gracefully without crapping out even without filters.
25 euros saved here.

I'm not sure what you are expecting - the whole point of the LMC used in this context was that it's extreme compression and is very nasty and distorted. It's a punk/aggro grot box - it's not a regular "put on my vocals to make it all polished and smooth" type of thing.
So if you're saying "when I tried it it sounded all aggressive and nasty", then yes, that's how it sounds. Only you can determine if it's a tool that is useful to you.
Don't forget the Mix knob - you can mix in fairly aggressively compressed stuff at low levels to add density...

It's a bit of a one-trick pony for me, but it's useful as a "drum room smasher" if you're working on multi-track acoustic drums. That's kind of the classic-Phill-Collins-Drums use-case for this.
