As for tracktion, i don't have any use for it, however I will confess that I have been recommending it to people who are just getting into this stuff.

I'd like to apologize to SuperFly76 for the direction this has taken. I don't mean any disrespect to tracktion. sincerely. my initial remarks were directed to spaceman, whose feeble attempt at humour toward a fellows' intro post was in poor taste and put me in a cranky mood. I'll admit mine were in poor taste as well.

I don't always agree with what bluedad has to say, but I would hardly call him a troll. 
Welcome, Superfly!! The asking price for Tracktion makes people think that it's a 'beginner' app, and it therefore also gets recommended a lot to beginners; however, I find it to be full-featured and.. well.. wonderful.
Glad you've had good experiences with it. Too bad you were virtually "forced" into it, but thankfully the price is still quite low and the registration is relatively painless.
If you ever have the urge to post any of your personal tunes, there's a "Tracktion in Action" thread around somewhere, along with the forum's "Music Cafe". It sounds like you're a music professional which means that you probably don't have much time for such indulgences, but I'm sure some of us would love to hear what you've come up with.
