so this thread is usefull, because not all usb problems, and most are solved, are only AMD, some usb stuff won't work, perhaps even on Intel?
well a PCIe usb expansion card, solves a lot.

Even with Intel we had problems.

You are welcome, for AMD it is BIOS version and settings dependent.
For the latest I version keep the c-states ON.

the thermal paste i will reapply, why??? better thermal paste, the h2, of noctua, shall it make a difference??? o well.

there i am... again...

the PCI-e USB 3 card i bought, see 2 posts above, works! MIDIMATE II and BCR2000 are recognized. all works now, as it should!

thanks for the tweaks, indeed a lot is still on Auto, which i personally also don't like, but it is stable now. i will check, there are profiles.., if some stuff, will help.

the first time, i knew it, i didn't do the 2 times per screw thing..., i detached the cooler, and i used the 'pea', a small drop in the middle, when i removed it, all thermal paste in the middle wasn't there, only on the outside. while, i think, the temps were normal.
second time, thermal paste ran out, the card procedure (can lead to air bubbles..), so i bought new thermal paste, the new one of Noctua, it is more for die-hard overclockers, or very hot CPU's..

it is more, 'insecurity', normally it is ok, what i do, i think it is fine now. but perhaps, it isn't a big procedure, 2 screws, only the room to attach the 2 coolers... it is there, it is a big case, or enough room...

the 5900x is a hothead, 180 watt, for 4.6 overclock, benchmark. benchmarks do not represent normal use of course. but gives some insight, in practice, even when a program fully uses the cores, it is never all the time 100% & AVX(2)....

I know the answer because I had the same problem. Because the old BCF2000 doesn't work with some mobos like the x570 built-in USB interfaces in Win10, you'll need a PCIe USB card with a different chipset. This issue affects a larger number of older USB 2.0 devices.
MIDI MATE II and BCR2000 (the latter does show up after the drivers... I had forgotten about them... but it does not work... so it must be the USB connection or something).

They are both recognized as composite USB devices under the USB tab without drivers, and give an error, of course.

works flawlessly. the other controllers i have (quite a lot..) work via the mainboard.

it seems the x-touch daw of behringer suffers from the same problem. but it depends on chipset, the B versions seem (?) to work without a PCIe USB card. or it depends on the mainboard.. and perhaps; the drivers..
