I'm fine with my Soundtoys 5 here. I got my money's worth and since I don't plan to update my system for many years... Sure it would be nice to see a new release with a bunch of new plugins, resizable GUIs with a wide range of sizes, tons of cool free presets, all plugins with extra features and refined UX and workflow. etc. But then, I'd expect to pay at least $200-500 for that kind of release. The "ongoing free updates for life" policy doesn't appear to be how Soundtoys works. That's fine. There is more than just one business model and product release strategy. They are one of many that release their product and only provide stability updates until a fancy new major release for a comensurate price.

Yes. See up at the top of the page it says "forum". That's why. Yet another KVR complaint thread. This time “rolls the dice” about getting free updates to an amazing plug-in suite.
Fantastic plugins, great company.

That will be hard to take for the soundtoys-loving pros who work with high level talent. It will be so sad they'll mope around, then call their broker and announce they're buying a vineyard to help them get through your cold, harsh words.hoxclab wrote: Fri Oct 08, 2021 3:08 pm Soundtoys plugins are for suckers. Old plugins with a high price tag. That honestly do not sound that much better over stock plugins.

In this day and age there is a large world population, and inevitably the proportion of whining will grow.Harry_HH wrote: Fri Oct 08, 2021 1:29 pm Most frustrating to be the Soundtoys 5 owner: after waiting years for an update, we get the 5.3.5 version announcement, including pratically only techical improvements for one DAW (Reaper).
These are the "Highlights" :
Fixes issues with offline rendering in Reaper and other hosts, where the effect might have a delayed onset or undesirable fade in.
Fixes audio artifacts that could happen when editing modulation patterns during playback.
Fixes issue where events could be edited to 0 level and then no longer modified.
Effect Rack now resets delay buffers on preset changes.
Fixes an issue with PhaseMistress sound for certain 2-stage phaser styles.
Fixes an issue where Effect Rack could crash on load in Reaper on Windows.
Pattern editor stability improvements.
That's what I call frustrating.

Another one here that doesn’t understand the reaction to the update. I don’t need or want constant updates. I just want it to work and I’m happy with occasional bug fixes.
If you’re after a big refresh, I wouldn’t expect it to be free. Maybe thats still in the works, maybe not but at least it’s not a dead product.

Just installed the update yesterday,
knowing the bundle pretty well, things appear to run a bit more smooth & faster.
Sorry to see a disappointment in that regard, I feel fine with it.
Setting Echoboy, Primaltap, the Rack & many others as my mixing standards
is something of value & I don`t want to miss them.
So I cannot share any bad feelings on what ST is doing,
it`s a dev I don`t expect to release in a kind of hasty step
in order to have a solid ground of given plugins on the ever cycle of an updated OS.
Still happy with my purchase.

They still sound good to me. If I didn't already have them, I'd still buy them --- but only if they had a resizable UI. THAT update is long overdue.

Oh god yes... resizable UI would be so sweet. I just hope they won't change the look and feel too much when they finally will get to it. The horror example would be the v12 of the Waves framework, where they just rescale the old graphics.
