Pant, pant, drool, drool...

Well, I don't care too much about color schemes. I know that's important to a lot of folks, but I'm way more interested in S4's workflow improvements, per-channel EQ, the Sonitus plug-ins, freeze, dithering, etc. I work in S2.2 now, so the upgrade to S4 has me pacing back and forth in anticipation. LOL!!

For those of you who are using S3, how do you guys like the Sonitus and Lexicon Pentheon reverbs?

I was sitting on the fence re updating, but having checked Edirol's site I decided that I am definately going to get it. Track folders, navigator, MPEX and POW-R, and, not unimportant for me (1), custom keystrokes. No more wondering where the shortcut for some tool or action is hiding.
Oh, a bunch of new plugins, too. I'm using SE, now, so that will be a whole new experience.

(1) I use video-editing software at work, and the past few weeks confusion between shortcuts was my biggest frustration.

I was already using the Sonitus suite before Ultrafunk went under. I like the reverb fairly well. I'm not fond of the Pantheon. If you've been spoiled by Lexicon hardware you might not be satisfied with it.

Im not all that fond of panthenon,(without some tweaking, I am reminded of that hideous drum sound with too much reverb used so heavily in the 80s) but it does have its uses. I like the cakewalk/ultrafunk reverb more.

Thanks for the reverb tips!

I've been using a bunch of freebies, and while they are good for some applications I don't seem to have a good smooth reverb. I like the Space Designer that comes with Logic, but uhhh... it comes with Logic. Damn! I figure I'll give the Sonitus and Lexicon reverbs a good whirl then see if I need to buy an additional reverb.

Cheers!

The exact opposite to me.Sonar 3 looks like an amatuer cartoon. So much so I haven't been able to use to complete one song,it remains unused. To each his own.I'll say it again, fire the graphic artist! When a GUI bothers me so much I can't stand even being in the program for even 5 minutes any new features are moot for me.

Wow. That's what makes the world go around, I guess. Cheers!

I really like the look of S4 too. With the new
color options it should be better than ever:

Color enhancements:

*Additional new color entries and color scheme presets
*Completely configurable Console view colors
*Per-clip background and foreground color settings
*Tracks now have assignable clip/data colors that remain with the track, even when sorting.
