Thanks very much for taking the time to listen, and for the great comments, PatchAdamz. Glad you liked itPatchAdamz wrote: Wed Mar 23, 2022 5:25 am Very interesting piece.
Full of emotional depth, both complex and unpredictable.
There is an honesty to the emotion that his hard to achieve as a musician.
I really like how it evolves into a more melodic, and evolution of the overall feeling.
One note, the lead melodic line in the last part gets a bit loud and bright.
Very well done!
I found a problem in my ACE rack in Mulab. I had accidentally disabled the EQ! I have re-enabled it and reduced the volume by 3dB, to make that synth a little quieter (and cleaned up its sound a little, too). I replaced the track on Soundcloud with the new mix.

Very cool and interesting musical soundscape.
Actually a bit scary music, as if you are trekking in unfamiliar and seemingly strange space.
Actually, it looks like you have made a really good movie soundtrack!!!
Very well done!!!

The very beginning did remind me of a 70s TD intro but the sequencers never arrived and it clearly is its own thing. The musical content is first rate. The repeated motifs are immersive and never dull. While listening, I imagined travelling back into prehistoric times, visiting a jungle inhabited with fantastic creatures. Additional musical layers coincided with entering deeper into the more remote and mysterious parts of the jungle. I was hoping a Celadon was a rare kind of dinosaur but it turned out to be a kind of pottery.
Generally the mix is good and choice of sounds is excellent. However, I would say there a couple of higher frequency sounds that are too loud. Specifically the sound from 1:07-1:15 and the lead that comes in at 9:14.
Great job!

I really liked the "broken" 'tron patch on here.enroe wrote: Thu Mar 24, 2022 7:25 am Very spacious orchestral starting song. It would probably fit into a science
fiction or fantasy film. The doomy sounds make everything even more
interesting.
SciFi, doom, spacious. I seem to be making more pieces like this during the last 7-8 years.
Celadon has quite a few different meanings, but I was referring to a mythological river in Arcadia.enroe wrote: Thu Mar 24, 2022 7:25 am Where does the name Celadon come from? The song has something mysterious,
something profound. It could also be called "Sunrise on Ganymede".
Great song, I enjoyed it!![]()

I've listened to this a few times over the last couple days while working but just gave it my full attention today. I really like how the back ground drones and meanders as details kinda lunge into the foreground. Well done.
Thanks for sharing!
Absynth was responsible for a lot of the stranger sounds on here. It was the first time I have used it, but I don't think it will be the last.
....and just like that, a new genre appears. Lunge music

Epic
Some reminders of Pink Floyd Echoes here and there
Nicely captures feelings of these dark times. I do like how it moves in and out of darkness, quiet and little slivers of light here and there.
Melodies around 6:20 are pretty
More and more I appreciate space in music. This one breathed very nicely.
Nice one chief.

Really good piece. Dark and atmospheric. I really like the synth-sounds.
it is better to have a track with some mistakes than a track without any soul

I think the intro probably took a little inspiration from Rubycon, as did the title (in a tenuous, round-about way).Frantz wrote: Mon Apr 11, 2022 4:28 am The very beginning did remind me of a 70s TD intro but the sequencers never arrived and it clearly is its own thing. I like the pre-historic imagery, and I can see why you might have made the dinosaur connection, but in this instance, Celadon is one of the mythical rivers of Arcadia.
Since you made these comments, I changed the EQ of the synth between 1:07-1:15, and also made a further cut to the synth volume level at 9:14Frantz wrote: Mon Apr 11, 2022 4:28 am Generally the mix is good and choice of sounds is excellent. Most of the tracks I've made during the last 5 or 6 years have been darker than my earlier stuff, and for the last 2 years, it's been quite difficult to feel happy about anything going on in the world, so my occasional musical outbursts are probably a reflection of that.ecamburn wrote: Mon Apr 18, 2022 2:07 am Epic

Density and sparsity. I think they both have their place. The trick is knowing where you are.

For some this might induce sadness or beauty, or just anxiety for others, like me.
Great music either way to have that effect.
-- although i recall a time when i would just be amused.
That's right! Music makes me either anxious or amused!

Most of the synths on this were Absynth, there were 3 M-Tron Pro parts, and the lead synth was ACE.tomtom1 wrote: Sun Apr 24, 2022 9:56 am Really good piece. Dark and atmospheric. I really like the synth-sounds.

Now if we can just get soundcloud to reproduce the tunes more transparently....
