Best NEW free synth for creating moving pads and ambient music?

I've been away for quite awhile (health issues), but trying to get back into music production, and wondering if there was some new, amazing freeware soft synth that excels at making moving pads and, ambient based tracks (stuck in bed with only a QWERTY keyboard - but MIDI keys may be available too).

Sorry for the sad song, but looking to see if some exciting new freeware pad synth has appeared in the last 2-3 years. Thanks!

Any synth can create moving pads and ambient music and there are a ton of worthwhile free ones. I'd search for "best free soft synths" and try them all out, see which works for you. Vital and Surge are definitely good places to start but there are others.

Not sure about "warm" (it's rather a pretty sterile sounding synth), but, it can definitely create some nice pads. Like with all Arturia synths, I miss some bass/beef, some warmth, and some character in its sound. Also, it's rather on the soft sound, so, getting aggressive tones out of it without a considerable amount of effort isn't easy.
