can save patchs on the computer, but needs to be connected obviously to use them. don't know if you use a laptop as well?hcv242 wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 5:23 pmYeah, but no delay, no presets (?). Go for about 350 to 400 € here (which is insane though... maybe you find some cheaper ones. Just confirms my impressions of the used market. Total scam.).
Small mono desktop synth that can restart the osc phase on midi note on.

Naw, it has presets and they're actually pretty easy to navigate (in 1-increment steps) from the front panel or by a simple program/bank change send from a MIDI controller (my preferred method). It's actually a pretty fantastic and diverse synth with a nice combination of immediacy, great sound, compact size, and deeper than it looks. The software editor is nicely done as well and makes preset storage, management, and selection even easier. I've got two other Moogs (Slim Phatty and Sub37) and I'd probably sell the Sub37 before I'd sell my Minitaur.hcv242 wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 5:23 pmYeah, but no delay, no presets (?). But, you’re correct that it lacks delay, so that’s probably the dealbreaker.

The Minitaur is the correct answer here. It's a well crafted synth with an excellent software editor added at no cost. It is a little more expensive than Behringer's modules, but it is a Moog after all. Sounds great (the sub is massive), has OSC reset and it's built to last. No delay? How is that even a problem. It seems like OP's expectations exceed his budget.

No, it’s not.
Yes, stop and think about that for a moment. Do you really think that all plucky percussive basses were made with the small handful of synths mentioned here that have OSC Reset? My Waldorf Pulse 2 makes basses that will poke a hole in your skull without using OSC Reset

I have a pulse 2 and i know how to use it. The free running oscilators make that each note starts at a random phase. In the style of music that i do , the bass and the kick use the same frequencies. This results in random phase cancelation when mixing kick + bass. Sorry, you havent helped a bit.cryophonik wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 2:31 pmNo, it’s not.

Well, you know what they say: you can't help people who can't help themselves. Sorry I tried and good luck figuring it out.

Nord micro modular is awesome...... And small. The evolver is fun too. That's what I think of for a small desktop synth. You could build one very easily as well for a hundred bucks or less if you already have soldering gear.

Both. I thought that was your only prerequisite. Both are small to the point that the majority or all of your patching would have to be CPU based. Both allow for the front panel controls to be used as macros outside of standard midi cc control and such too. Making simple live tweaks easy. I recommended them for a reason. Either is a decent purchase and is useful for far more than bass should you want.
Good luck
