If you send notes to it on MIDI channel 10, it will play notes back at you, not patterns. I didn't think about this before, but if you go into Edit mode, you can replace any of the other two pads (tom or percussion) with the OHH sample version of the same CHH, assuming you don't need any of these two other pads for their dedicated purpose (which I never do).
