It's a good idea; however, it is not considered a free update due to the development time we've put into it. We're offering all Techivation users a $49 discount on it, so they can purchase it for $29 instead of $78. And new users who purchase it also receive a free copy of the T-Compressor standard version.monophonK wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 1:12 pm I would be in favor of making a distinction. If the T-Compressor has been purchased regularly, then a free update / upgrade would be justified. If someone got the T-Compressor for free, then upgrade offer to T-Compressor M.

As someone who really only vaguely knows what he's talking about:
This is a neat line of plugins I think, though I am not overly interested in them for some reason. I do like the simple UI and the consistency. Personally, I would be more interested in them if there were a dedicated EQ and filter, some facilities for multiband and automatic gain staging, global parameter linking across tracks and maybe some Sonible type AI in a few spots.
meh just a few minor tweeks
doh almost forgot, a dedicated limiter.

You're so on point! We've already been working on a limiter project, and it does include AI.pekbro wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:24 pm As someone who really only vaguely knows what he's talking about:

Nice! I'll be interested to check that out.Techivation wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 9:39 pmYou're so on point! We've already been working on a limiter project, and it does include AI.pekbro wrote: Tue Dec 13, 2022 8:24 pm As someone who really only vaguely knows what he's talking about:

Also to see how you proceed, in my estimation, many developers seem to fall short when it comes to a comprehensive suite of track-centric tools, either because they possibly don't want to offset the sales of their other products and leave stuff out, or they simply go off on tangents that diminish consistency of workflow, efficiency and often, practicality. While others seem intent on oversimplification and skimp on the features and quality.
There are some that are close, but so far, I have yet to see anyone get it right. I think you have a lot of potential to achieve that, if you choose to do so.

I like Techivation plugins, they are simple, nice to look at, and sound good. I just used the de-esser yesterday and it was perfect. I own most of them but haven't had any time to try to compressor since it was given away free a few weeks ago, but I assume its at minimum pretty decent given their other plugins. I think the "5000" marketing is weird cause I doubt that they're going to sell that many, but I'm not the target for that marketing I guess, only they can say if that type of messaging actually works. It doesn't bother me either, I'm not offended by it, it just has no effect on me. Also, as a developer (not audio), having a limited edition plugin that you don't get future income from sounds like a potential support nightmare.

No, it means, in total not more than 5,000 licenses will be sold. At this moment, 4,221 are remaining stillmonophonK wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 8:38 am "Only 5,000 licenses available for sale. Until the end of 2022!"
Means zero sales until now?

I'm glad you like our plug-ins.briefcasemanx wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 8:50 am I like Techivation plugins, they are simple, nice to look at, and sound good. There are fundamental common aspects between T-Compressor and T-Compressor M, and so every time we prepare an update for the T-Compressor, we will implement it in T-Compressor M as well, and the updates will mainly be about platform/daw compatibility, CPU optimization, licensing system, stabilities, etc. which we often apply to across all our products, as we keep those things consistent and organized through them.
Of course, if it was a completely different product with a completely new sound, it could be a nightmare to provide support for it forever after the limited edition sale is over.
Here we're offering an alternative edition of T-Compressor, with manual controls that are used in typical audio compressors, just as an optional thing for users who'd prefer that. T-Compressor M is definitely not a must-have, but just a choice for some users.

Good for you congratulations and surprised me that so many have GAS (or SAS) to buy the limited offerTechivation wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 9:19 amNo, it means, in total not more than 5,000 licenses will be sold. Really a clever move to first offer the plugin for free and then to offer the multi-functionality as a new limited plugin at a supposedly low price and to have success with it.
This is unfair to all those who paid for the T-Compressor and helped you finance your company.
Although it was foreseeable, in the T-Compressor it has a link to a "Pro" version or will this also still come after the motto "T-Compressor allows you to add up to 3 compressor instances" but you have to pay if you want the maximum functionality also 3 times for it...

I'm wondering...
If licence number is limited, what's happening with support since over times there will be no more buyer?
No incitative to a sustained support I'd guess.
I think that those plugins are about efficiency/work flow, as opposite to "experimental".
There's some need for a basic follow up over times, I believe.
IMHO!

The T-Compressor standard version already offers the maximum functionality. It has automatic compression adjustment control, while the T-Compressor M doesn't have that. They are just different in the workflow. Some users prefer to manually set up the compression parameters, as most compressors work, and the T-Compressor M offers that.monophonK wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 1:02 pm Really a clever move to first offer the plugin for free and then to offer the multi-functionality as a new limited plugin at a supposedly low price and to have success with it.

" The fundamental things and major features of T-Compressor and T-Compressor M are the same, and the difference is the workflow. So when it comes to updates and improvements for the T-Compressor, we will include it in the T-Compressor M as well.
Many updates are also not product specific, such as authentication improvements, CPU optimization processing, Stabilities, OS and DAW compatibilities, etc."

Wow. 779. There must be a great buzz about this release on the internet. Where can we read about user experience?Techivation wrote: Thu Dec 15, 2022 9:19 amNo, it means, in total not more than 5,000 licenses will be sold. Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
