Ok I just had a fleeting thought, how about rewire? I remember using with Ableton within the Reaper DAW a few years ago. As long as your machine can handle the processing, it should be an option to try.

Yep Rewire came to my mind as well but the ideal solution would be a VST/Plugin as it just would minimize everything from a UX point of view. Thx

.... I m looling for a tool/VST to do the same for MIDI.....

I just tested Mulab 9 plugin in Reaper.
It can be a completely independent MIDI recorder, running even when Reaper is not playing.
