I don't have Netflix or Disney or Spotify or Apple Music etc. I do have Prime cause I live in a remote location and it pays for itself in saved shipping costs.Atlatnesiti wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 12:09 pmSo because you're so against subscriptions, it means that you also don't have Netflix, Prime, Disney and others?

Don´t you think, that there is a difference between a productive tool and something you like to watch only one time just for fun?Atlatnesiti wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 12:09 pmSo because you're so against subscriptions, it means that you also don't have Netflix, Prime, Disney and others?

Meh... I moved to Linux from iOS to get away from subscriptions and planned obsolescence. iPads are for those who have no problems with those things. My pockets aren't that deep.SLiC wrote: Tue May 09, 2023 4:58 pm https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2023/05/ ... o-to-ipad/
''Starting Tuesday, May 23, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad will each be available on the App Store for $4.99 (US) per month or $49 (US) per year with a one-month free trial.8 Final Cut Pro is compatible with M1 chip iPad models or later, and Logic Pro will be available on A12 Bionic chip iPad models or later. Final Cut Pro for iPad and Logic Pro for iPad require iPadOS 16.4. For more information, visit apple.com/final-cut-pro-for-ipad and apple.com/logic-pro-for-ipad.''

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I don't pay subscriptions for those either. But I do have a lifetime gold membership (one time pay only) for a full blown Plex server.SLiC wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 12:12 pm Not to mention Spotify and Office365 which I couldn't live without and much prefer on subscription!

For now, with Logic macOS we got the content with free updates over the last years; we got massive new functionality with free updates over the last years .... so, still, having to pay for something that was included with our purchase .... [the only thing we had to pay for were the new Macs ...SLiC wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 10:29 am
What you get for the 50$ may also include very regular content updates (like Reason+) but of course there isn't an option not to pay subscription if you don't want all the extra loops and presets etc...still. I'm excited to see it, cost of a coffee every month- I can live with that and if I dont like it just stop paying...no biggy.

Each of you add up all of your subscriptions. All of this is overhead that comes out of your paycheck each month, and could be saved or invested for the day when you can no longer work. The world wants everyone to move to subscriptions, but there are plenty of things that don't use subscriptions. There ARE some things that everyone has to pay monthly, such as utilities and such, but buying and paying for a home builds equity, while renting gives you nothing but a warm and dry place until they kick you out or raise the price. But then again, I don't expect everyone to agree with my ideologies. Not everyone prefers Linux either.

Woah hold up! When Apple puts it like this, $50 a year is a no brainer! I mean I’ll prob be rich and famous before I even gotta renew the subscription once since I’ve been making beats for a few months already lol.

I love this, we've got a about two weeks to get actual reviews and hands on experience, yet already the things that "might" be missing are getting complained about!SLiC wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 5:51 amBased on what?TS-12 wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 10:10 pmits nothing like logic pro x for mac.Atlatnesiti wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 4:43 amNo it isn’tTS-12 wrote: Wed May 10, 2023 4:24 am It’s more of GarageBand with extra features and plugins, than Logic
