I understand what you want to do.
Here's a quick and dirty way to run GR in Cubase.
Create 2 new audio tracks. Place GR as an insert on one of them and monitor this track while recording to the other. This allows you to hear the effect and play with feel and still gives you the option of changing the guitar sound after the track is recorded.
Hope this helps.

Axxe...I love that idea for using GR.
I finally understand what i need to do to get this to work but something is not cooperating with me. Don't know if it'll help but i've included a screen shot...maybe you'll beable to see why i cannot get a signal into GR.

If you are able to create or have an audio trk in SX...then record a dry guitar imput and play it back...then you can open the mixer in SX,(devices/mixer),find that audio channel your using in the mixer...hit the "e" button to open the insets window...click inside a slot and choose GR as an effect.
When GR opens choose a sound, say from "best of GR".
Then click somewhere outside guitar rig and GR will go behind SX and disappear.
See that the speaker icon button is lit for monitoring.
This SHOULD work.

Unless I'm reading your pic wrong you don't have an insert on that track. How about this - just for a test ok? Open a new blank project i.e. NO tracks. Then add an audio track - just one. Then add GR as an Insert for that track. Then click on the monitor Icon - hear anything?

YAY!!!! Well I FINALLY got it working guys!!! I must of been inserting the effects channel wrong. When I tried it they way "annode" showed me it worked fine.
Once again I'd like to thank everyone for all their help and for being patient with a noobie. It probably would of taken me forever to figure this out. Hell it took me all day even with all your help....lol. Thanks!!! You guys rock!

Real happy to hear you got it going Moose!!!
I don`t hear,or know that i`m hearing much GR used in songs at the "music cafe"...so I`ll be wanting to hear some from you when your ready!
You seem to be a real good guy. Happy to have you here at KVR!
We were all newbies at one time...we all here understand that.
When I got my first pc/cubase/wavelab...I knew nothing at all!
On top of that my copy of wavelab was corrupt right from the steinberg cd and it screwed up my pc big time!!!
I was on the phone with Steinberg hrs each day,and they finally blamed it on my pc because it was custom made!
This was before I came to KVR.
After more time fighting with Steinberg, one support guy there finally figured it out,but instead of sending me a complete new copy...he sent me the update cd instead!
Ofcoarse that did no good since the original wavelab cd was corrupt!Back to calling Steinberg, which were long distance calls, and I had to pay!
To bring this long story to an end...I finally got them to send a new full program copy to me.
That whole episode went on for 4 weeks.
I spent at least 8 hrs each day,(really),trying to sort out how to get my pc working again after the corrupted wavelab install.(learned how to re-install win98)
I really suffered...but I learned windows real freaking fast!hahaha
That would not have happened that way if I were a member at KVR at that time i`m sure of it!
Barry.
