Getting DaVinci Resolve working with Visual Synthesizer.

Also working on animated backgrounds in Resolve,some pretty cool stuff available there!

I have one video in progress but I need a good air raid siren to finish it, could be a while, I'm picky.

After a couple of weeks learning Visual Synthesizer and the most basic features of DaVinci Resolve, my first feeble attempt at mixing public domain film, a custom soundtrack, and Visual Synthesizer output.. I present to you.. DUCK AND COWER!

..Soundtrack composed in Waveform 12, abstract visual effects in Visual Synthesizer, and compositing/editing done in DaVinci Resolve (mostly Edit and Fairlight windows).

This is just the start! I have a few old public domain horror movies I'm going to edit and then re-score, and add VFX.

The ultimate goal is to re-do 'Plan 9 From Outer Space', which semi-recently fell into the public domain. My life's goal! For now, anyway...

By the way, how did you create the visuals? Manually in a video edit/VFX tool/motiin graphics? Algorithmic generator? Enslaved artistic demons? Servant angels?

I use After Effects for all the videos on here.
Its a slow process but I have been interested in this type of animation for many years so I am teaching myself over time.

I have also used Blender which is free and is a great program.

AE I know a little about, dabbled with an older version years ago. That makes total sense to me, and yeah, that looks like one hell of a lot of work! Been tempted to get Creative Cloud AE for a while, might give it a shot if Fusion won't do the job.

I've fiddled with Blender, V4 looks pretty good - might have to give that a try.

I haven't done any meaningful animation work since zipping around in Lightwave and 3DS Max back in my game development days. Le sigh. So much to learn, so little time!

I'll order LOTS more coffee!
