Yeah, I did restore points, which is why I thought it had to be the machine until I did a complete format/reinstall. That was Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and it was a decision to go back to Win7 where I realized it was this licensing system and not the machine. It still runs W7.GreyLion wrote: Fri Dec 08, 2023 1:54 am BBFG# -- Wow! That's fairly terrifying. A good reminder that I've gotten out of the habit of creating restore points before installing software, since I haven't had any issues like that for about a decade. And, of course, sometimes a restore doesn't fix things. Maybe I need to get more paranoid again.
I had no problems with any of it, except for having to unplug and replug my iLok key. Which does indicate that the R5 License Manager struggles with some issue with USB. Otherwise, it was fast and painless.
From the site, it looks like you can't just use iLok software, you have to have a key. It definitely wants to touch some kind of USB storage device.
What OS are you running, just as a data point?
My "Home" machine that I downloaded the demo on is W10, but I don't have an install disk for 10, so I'm not willing to even take the chance.
