Will the plugin come with nice glassy desktop reflections? I might feel a little let down if it doesn't...

:P

Really looking forward to trying this though, the new editor(s) look great :tu:

If you're attending NAMM later this month, please visit us at booth 10206 between Halls A and B, right next to Bitwig!

Among other things, we'll be showcasing a beta version of Zebralette 3. We'll demo some of its sonic capabilities as well as Wavetable/MSEG editing tools.

While "beta" means "feature complete but still a bit buggy", we hope to go public soon after NAMM. We'll then spend the coming weeks and months fine tuning the user experience and its sonic powers with the help of your feedback.

We're confident that Zebralette 3 will become one of the most comprehensive wavetable generation tools available, and like its predecessor, it'll be free.

As for what "Zebralette" is, it's really just a small synth based on one Zebra oscillator and one Zebra MSEG, with a bit of surrounding stuff, made up from standard modules we have. It works as its own synth because the oscillator is pretty capable on its own. In the past 10+ years I've been on and off able to work on a new version, which increases the consistency between visual editors, and vastly expands sonic possibilities.

As for the most tingling question: We can not yet assess a timeline as to when its bigger brother - Zebra 3 - is ready, but once Zebralette 3 is finished, the largest chunk of work on Zebra 3 is done as well. Also, our team has been making big progress in areas that are not part of Zebralette. We'll know more once we get there.

Cheers,

- U
Hi, does it have any Remapping of Modulation, (mostly in MSEG style with Reverse function), Aux Modulation, does it allow switch between Uni/Bipolar modulation with NO changing a Modulator itself, does it have Presets for Modulators/Effects/FX Chain, does it import User Wavetables and is there A/B mode of MSEG that might be modulated too?

Very excited to hear the news!
Thank You! 🫶

Quick q: will the new Zebralette 3 replace the current Zebralette? I'm quite fond of the current one, and would love to keep it as well.

New plug-in - lives next to it :)

Will it have all of the osc fx in Zebra 3 or not yet?

Oh my ! Is it too early to include the additive rendering engine ? So excited nevertheless, looks so elegant and functional.

Dunno what "Remapping of Modulation" is... like Z2 ModMappers?
Dunno what "Aux Modulation" is, either
Uni/Bi = yes, via ModMatrix - see Hive 8)
No module presets yet, but may come if needed.
It imports .wav files via drag'n'drop, which it then tries to vectorise into a spline based form. A bit hit and miss. Some .wavs work, others don't.
MSEG morphs with up to 8 different curves (currently: 7 - a bug!). Can be modulated, of course.

Yes, 20 OscFX with 36 algorithms, but I suspect the number will grow.

The Additive Synth engine is in there, but lacks even more optimisation and bugfixes than the wavetable one.

Mind you, it is not one of those where you drag an image file onto it or something. It merely plays back the spectrum of the waveform with up to 1024 independent sine oscillators, with several options to detune the harmonics against each other, like spreading them or randomising them.

Like others, very excited about this development. One thing about your work is that you demonstrate actual care for doing things right.
In fact, what I find most missing from Music Tech at this point is user-centric design (UX). It does show up in GUI. It’s also a matter of satisfying people’s needs.
My playflows benefit from the u-he approach to designing and building synths which do what I want them to do.

So, thanks for the headsup. Eager to try the new Zebralette. Might be very useful for windcontroller players. And probably useful for MPE controllers as well (recently got started on the Exquis and it’s a joy to use).

That's actually exactly what I'm looking for, dynamic partials mangling ;)
