Agreed, CRP is the best I've heard. I wish I had a surround setup but I just use it in stereo.

I have UAD Sound City Studios that I've been playing with, but haven't really gotten it to work for me yet, at least in the "re-mic" mode.

Same. I thought I might use it for some VR work, but the platform is so limited it didn’t really make sense. Stereo is fine.

If you want total control over where you are placing performers on the sound stage, with lots of choices for venues, then check out Inspirata or VSL MIR Pro 3D. But they are expensive (especially MIR) and take a ridiculous amount of HD space.
Do you by any chance have experience with either Inspirata or MIR Pro? How do they compare to Sound City Studios? I understand that the range and focus is different with these two as they seem to be more targeted at orchestral music but they both offer room/studio spaces.

Another for Cinematic Rooms Pro.

However, my favorite character reverb has become my new Mercury X. It can also create convincingly realistic spaces at least as well as most plugin reverbs I’ve heard - but falls a bit short vs CRP and a few others in that regard (especially those that have great sounding and manipulate early reflections). I’ve demoted the UAD 224 and several others since receiving the X as a gift.

I wish the X was a plugin! Or at least had an editor.

I have no interest in a pedal so maybe they will make a plugin eventually like Strymon did with Big Sky.
