I think I might pass on this one if it is a CS80 as I find it to be to quirky and weird.

I mean, thank God they chose an 8-voice synth this time. That's actually a reasonable number.
Not gonna lie, I'm a little stoked for this.

Nice, well spottedKorg Supporter wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:08 pmThat's a KORG Keystage. It uses polyphonic aftertouch, which would further hint at the product being a CS-80 emulation.Vortifex wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:14 pm Not sure if this looks very CS-80ish though. The CS-80 didn't have 8 numbered dials on it, unless this is just a fake GUI for the tease or they added extra controls.

The soundforce controller is going to be monstrous for this beast that is the cs80 !
I’m curious to look at what they’ve done regarding the UI

For me it looks like "travelling" to Japan... (home of the CS-80)beely wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:34 pm What's the whole map/globe thing about? I feel there should be some significance to that I'm missing...

But are you hearing anything that sounds like one?seafire wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 6:29 pm Not seeing anything that indicates a CS80, and the sound is fairly generic.
Overall, not much of a tease.
It's the Blade Runner intro theme. Famously played on a CS-80 by Vangelis. Would be really weird if Softube were using that particular synth line to sell anything other than a CS-80 emulation.

Just listened to it, sounds nothing like that clip.
How original

Minus what sounds like a flanger, and not exact note for note, so one doesn't get copyright infringe, but sure sounds like an inspired by Blade Runner clip to me too.
I would be really surprised if it was anything else.

The map is showing Africa. A song by Toto that is famous for using the CS-80 heavily.
Just look and listen here:

That part threw me.
I thought that even do it did show Africa, it ended at Australia, and the only Australian 'synth' I recall is the fairlight which is not known to sound anything like this.
