I sometimes wish the Valhalla stuff had input/output gain controls, level metering, and some sort of dynamics control, but IMO they are some of the best-designed, best-sounding plugins out there, so I happily use them just the way they are.
He put ducking in Valhalla Delay but only as a separate algorithm rather than a global control. I agree that would be a nice addition to the reverbs. I usually reach for the Liquidsonics plugins when I need dynamics control. The Exponential ones have it too.

I can see gain controls being useful but I can't say I've ever used (or wanted) level metering on a reverb plugin.

Which has weird (fixed) envelope-settings (that makes its useability at best so-so) - so it's pretty safe to say that he never really embraced the concept in the first place.

since this is thread of valhalla plugins, I wanted to ask which of their plugins gets most use from your arsenal?

I've read opinions on vintageverb and room, that those two seem to be both equally very popular (room has gotten praise from some synth enthusiasts, both so has vintageverb). I've personally been eyeing to get their delay plugin, since it seems to have pretty good feature set for a delay plugin (and very straight-forward).

I think VintageVerb is more popular and is the one that gets the most usage from me, along with Plate.

VintageVerb any day of the week. Palace and Hall1984 are just too good - especially Palace, which is like a Quantec on stereoids.

my favorite is Shimmer

There are so many algorithms in VVV and Room, you can spend months exploring them. After a deep dive into Room I discovered it's extremely versatile, not just naturalistic (has extreme chorus if desired), and the separation of ER and tail allows for more control than VVV.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

You can get a whole host of gorgeous shimmers out of Valhalla Delay as well...

ValhallaDelay is my go-to delay. Just love it.
ValhallaVintageVerb is my go-to "Lexi style" reverb. Just love it.
ValhallaRoom is my go-to "need to put this in a realistic sounding room" reverb. Just love it.
ValhallaSuperMassive is my go-to "I need a massive, Blackhole-esque space" reverb. Just love it.

The others (Shimmer, UberMod) I could live without. ;)

I like UberMod for doubling and ADT stuff, works nice on vocals.

Delay for sure is my favorite Valhalla plugin. Supermassive is also quite good.

Among the reverbs, Plate used to be my everyday working reverb choice for quite a while. NI Raum kind of took over that role, but Plate's still excellent.

But Room became my favorite Valhalla reverb with the update that added the feedback loop around the predelay and early reflections. I like things that lurk in that liminal space between delay and reverb and it's now extremely good at that.

Space Modulator.

I am also love Valhalla stuff. Got Vintage Verb, Room, Delay and shimmer from them. For plates I am using Soundtoys Superplate and also have Pro R2 from Fabfilter... But I am thinking about the main reverb... and thinking about Cinematic Rooms...

I'm sure you know this but just want to make certain it's understood:

VintageVerb does FAR more than "just" Lexi-type of reverb.

Oh yeah, I know. It does the EMT-250 thing, Quantec, etc. I don't know what to call those. "Digital reverbs with character" maybe? "Non-Spring, Non-Plate, not necessarily realistic sounding room" reverbs?

Maybe just: Vintage verbs.
