Wow it now supports DAWproject (Open exchange format for user data between DAWs)
That is great
If they add Linux and CLAP too, they may gain a fan.
Plus the BWS/Ableton Live features are quite nice to see.
How good is the controller support? Any news on MIDI 2.0?

There is a button near the bottom-left of the VST Plug-in Manager window labelled "VST 2" with a power symbol on it. Clicking on this scans for and enables VST2 plugins. It re-added VST2 plugins for me although I haven't tested anything yet.sqigls wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 12:58 pmdoes that mean cannot use now or there is an 'unofficial' way to use vst 2 in C14?Cubase 14 marks the end of official compatibility support for VST 2 plug-ins

I use both Cubase and Bitwig. Opening audiofiles and plugins is one thing, going back and forth from the daws is another thing. VERY skeptic about modulation in cubase, but we'll see. Bitwig is just so streamlined with its mod system.dionenoid wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 12:42 pm Wow. Didn't see that one coming
- We have updated key data structures in our code base to optimize memory allocation. This is positively impacting overall performance, especially in areas where large amounts of data are handled.
- As previously announced, Cubase 14 marks the end of official compatibility support for VST 2 plug-ins.
- Cubase 14 introduces two major changes affecting forward compatibility with older Cubase versions, meaning that not all previous versions will be able to open projects created in Cubase 14.
- We collaborated closely with the Bitwig team to integrate DAWproject support in Cubase.

So, they kept the horrible changes of the GUI (Inspector, Mixer) they made in v13. What a disappointment...

You can modulate sample start in sample track now. With new modulators.

Very solid feature list for this update. IF those modulators can be routed externally it will open up a lot of possibilities for me. I use Cubase on one machine to sequence another machine setup with VCV Rack on its own computer with the ES-9 interface. . Being able to route those various modulators out as CCs will give me more interaction with my VCV rack setup via my midi to CV convertors. That is of specific interest, the rest of the updates look very promising.

I didn't like it either. So I went back to C12 instead. I updated to C13 24th September. So no grace period for me. I do as always and wait a couple of years till next time I update.ThomasN wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2024 1:37 pm So, they kept the horrible changes of the GUI (Inspector, Mixer) they made in v13.
