Auto Filter now has oversampling (Hi-Quality mode) which is nice. I'm assuming it's still Andy's code for MS2/PRD etc.

this is really nice @On Windows, you can now enable a hardware-accelerated GPU renderer to significantly improve Live’s UI performance. This option is disabled by default but can be enabled in the Display & Input section of Live's Settings.

Hope Mac is also going to get it.
GPU acceleration is already working on Mac.

danke ... :) and really, starting from Live 11.2 ( https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... 2-on-macOS ), Metal-based GPU rendering was added on macOS, which improved visual performance. But I checked on Reddit it's not entirely clear if the 30 FPS limit is completely gone, still notice its effects, especially when there are lots of automation curves and visual elements in a project.

Still dont understand the word "bounce", that is just rendering the file isn't it? Where the word comes from?
Its fairly common terminology, and its been around for decades, it dates back to the days of tape based recording. Render is newer as a term, probably taken from its use in 3D/CGI processes and video editing.
In ProTools you still 'Bounce to Mix' to output audio files.
Yes so I think it is about the bounce back to start and so on, from tape machines yes. I've just always thought it like a bunny is bouncing around :D In Cubase one could also render to track, which I used. Why would I want to bounce around :hihi:

I'm glad they added the scale aware system to a bunch of devices like resonators.
Auto filter finally gets an output control.
Keep up the good work.
Oh and gpu rendering works nicely so far.

It seems Ableton is improving some key devices with each new update. I hope EQ Eight and Compressor are being considered.

Post

I do wonder what does EQ8 need? Dynamic EQ? Maybe yeah, TDR NovaGE is used.
Compressor could be heavily improved.

Dynamic EQ, spectral EQ, All pass filter etc are all things people wouldn’t mind seeing id bet.

I don’t use Ableton but I have to admit they are really knocking it out of the park with each update. Version 13 is going to be insane.

What is making all these daw companies come out with stuff more often? More competition? Or is AI helping them dev? Or?

Looks like a great update.

Is Ableton 12 running well for people with all the changes?

I don't think I have experienced a single issue with Live 12 so far.

Good to hear!

Compressor was updated in Live 9 but that version produces a click with fast attacks that the old version didn't have. People have pointed it out quite a bit. So yeah, I think compressor could be more transparent and clean.

Transparent and clean is necessary but I wouldn't mind some analog compressor flavors added to it (like in Logic Pro).

Yes, this thing has been rock solid and performant so far. But it's nice to hear they're fixing bugs left and right.

I don't use Live much these days but I'm glad to see that we can now resize the header of a group track to the minimal height no matter the number of tracks it contains...

I had made a feature request about it before Live 12 came out...
