I really like it but I get on win 11 really slow presets switching. Anyone else?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

There is so much packed into this synthesizer that any retro music maker will just love I would think. This would be especially true of those who don't have any outboard synthesizers. For those that do however I think it would really add a whole new vibe when mixed.

I couldn't agree more. As much as I appreciate Cherry digging deep into the synths of the past, Dreamsynth and Sines are two severely underrated synths. I haven't had the time to check out Harmonia yet, but yeah... more unique designs please!

Does it have or import the original Triton patches?

Post

They usually do a good job so this is on my list

You're confusing the Trident with the Triton. These are completely different synthesizers.

Ha not so much confusing as misread (dyslexia)! Question still stands though

I will buy eventually but still learning and trying to use older CA synths in my music. Will be interesting to compare Syntronik Triptych with this.

Same here. FL + W11 and preset change takes about 4 seconds or more.

It's a known issue. I reported it to them yesterday, along with some details. They're looking into it.

Unlike Cherry Audio's Rhodes Chroma emulation, they didn't mention any patch compatibility with the original Korg Trident Mk III. (And you'll have an even tougher time getting it to read Triton patches. )

Seems like an odd choice. I've never come across anyone who rated the Korg Trident. I'm a hardened Korg hw fanboi, but I probably wouldn't take a Trident off your hands even if you paid me. Space in the studio is too precious. I suspect a sw emulation of a forgettable hw synth will be...forgettable?

In my opinion, the original Trident was a total failure. The strings sounded much worse than those of the cheaper Solina, the brass sounds were too thin, and the synthesizer functions... what synthesizer? In addition, the original model constantly went out of tune by up to a whole note while playing. But many Korg synthesizers had this problem until the mid-1980s.

Fortunately, Cherry Audio expands on its models compared to the original. This is also the case here. The Cherry Audio Trident sounds different from the original and offers more possibilities. It is simply better and, in my opinion, is become what the original should have been in the first place.

Perhaps it would have been better to give the soft synth a different look and name. Many (but certainly not all) who once owned an original Trident are somewhat scarred by the experience.
