You don't need to set anything in the preferences for the conversion from any files or for the drag&drop to work. What I was refering to is the point "keys" in the preferences, where you can define what help-keys to use for what function it executes when you drag&drop (play, convert, open in playlist, open conversion dialog). Not sure it can get sounds out of giga files, but if the sounds in giga files are in any known format like AIFF, WAV or whatever, then it should work.
