I really enjoyed this one! It evoked a kind of earthy/primitive feeling for me. Hard to explain but it brings imagery of vast natural landscapes.
Thanks for sharing!

Uncanny. I've just had my lower jaw drilled in preparation for an implant. I think the conventional anaesthetic was probably a wiser choice :hihi:

Thanks very much for listening and commenting, zerocrossing. Glad you liked it :)

Great sound design, mix, and ambient mood shifts. Well done!

Long time, no see :D

All of the sound sources (and most of the FX) on this piece are almost as old as me

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment, ho66it. Glad you liked it :)

Until about the 2-minute mark it reminded me of a dark Boards of Canada piece (just needs more tape saturation). The keys that come in at 2 minutes develop an interesting rhythmic relationship to the rest of sounds. I'm imagining an alternative version with layers of tight staccato articulations increasing the rhythmic complexity. I think I prefer the fluidity and slow movement in your actual version. Overall, an enjoyable listen.

Best,
Adi
Hi, Adi. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment. Good to hear that you enjoyed it :)

I've got a fair amount of reverb and width on the Iris vocals and the Z3ta+2 synth, not so much on the bass synth. The delayed piano might make you a little dizzy if I panned it any further, but I could probably make a small tweak to the Imager settings for that instrument. Watch this space.
I remixed it yesterday, adding a little reverb to the bass synth, and slightly widened the delayed Absynth piano.
Yes. Same link. I replaced the original file.

Thanks, Tim, sounds great. Definitely a sci fi movie/series material, I keep imagining a dark spaceship helm, with the captain all alone pondering about something.

Best,

The last time I used Elottronix XL was in 2009 (although this plugin is at least 6 years older than that), so I put my mind to using it again after such an unreasonably long delay.

Any jokes are undeniably corny, intentional, but fully justifiable.

Essentially, there are only 4 different sounds used on here. Three of them were presets that I like with some minor modifications and a little FX processing. The vocal sound is something I created from a SampleTank Free sound and "enhanced" in Audacity about 10 years ago. I use IRIS2 as a "delivery mechanism". The rhythmic interest was mainly Elottronix and a little trial and error.

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment, eassae. Glad you liked it :)

Sweet. This immediately gives off Gabriel San Jacinto vibes, especially the deep pad basses. I really love the mood of this piece. You have a way with sound my friend.

We're drifting with no particular destination in mind. Fog obscures the view at first with occasional flickers of sunlight. Unidentifiable birds and insects serenade us in the distance on this unfamiliar river. Gradually we are bathed in light and it might turn out to be a beautiful day. If only we weren't so lost...

Perfect mix. A deep soundstage with interesting things happening in all frequency ranges. Very nice work!

Maybe it's the combo of synthetic and sampled vocal sounds that helps to create that earthy/primitive vibe. I've always found these sounds quite inspiring.

Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment, Justin. Glad you enjoyed it :)

that pitch shifted deep vocal is very reminiscent of early sampling (pitch shift via sample rate). Very nice nostalgia for me - love the sparse arrangement and those guitar harmonics are great - is that actual guitar playing? Anyway. nice relaxed vibe

I love how the different elements weave in and out over the background synth pad. It’s so beautifully balanced.
