My controller can send 16 different notes from 1 key, I set each one to a different note.
Set the sampler key range and midi channel of your sampler.
Enjoy some randomness with every note.

Also worth checking out:
JS Midi Note Randomizer
JS Midi Modal Randomness
I am not looking for a DAW solution (and most definitely not Reaper, gee!), I need separate VST3 plugin - my DAW of choice is Cubase Pro (proud user for many yrs now, best of the best DAW outthere...at least for me).
If you have Cubase Pro you already have the answer. Use Groove Agent which comes with it

Just open it up, take your samples in what ever folder in the Media bay, and drag all of them onto a single drum pad.

Right click on that pad to open the sample editing zone. Look for the Mode setting, change this setting from Velocity (default) to Random or Random Exclusive. If you select random it will be truly random. That means in theory that the same sample could play 2 or more times in a row

If you select random exclusive it will not repeat a sample until all of them have been played
Guys thank you all, but some of you still missing one very important part of my question: FREEWARE SOLUTION, for my own reasons I am looking for a separate (not DAW integrated) VST3 simple freeware solution (as a payed option I already have Speedrum 2 - it is not the case of me NOT HAVING PAYED SOLUTION, I am just looking for the FREEWARE ONE)...
Awesome then why did you say you have Cubase? Why are you yelling? And why didn't you state that you already have software that can do this but you are looking specifically for freeware and why you are?

Because it originally came across like you were looking for a solution for this without spending money

I am sorry I took the time to try and help you
You do not need to know my reasons WHY I DO WANT TO HAVE FREEWARE for this athough I have Cubase Pro - where is the problem for you? It is clearly stated IT HAS TO BE FREEWARE no matter what I have or have not, in fact it is not yer bussiness.
Only problem is if you look at your original post you said
fafayqa wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 9:01 pm I am looking for very simple VST3 instrument, that I would give it a folder with samples, and it would then RANDOMLY play them with each note
And Groveagent is a very simple VST3 instrument that does exactly that

You closed out your original post with the following in all caps
fafayqa wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 9:01 pm DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY FREE VST3 INSTRUMENT THAT WOULD DO THIS?
You followed that up with the following
fafayqa wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 10:59 pm I am not looking for a DAW solution (and most definitely not Reaper, gee!), I need separate VST3 plugin - my DAW of choice is Cubase Pro (proud user for many yrs now, best of the best DAW outthere...at least for me).
And again since you own Cubase Pro you already own Grooveagent and got it for free. It is literally freeware, So it is a free simple VTS3 instrument that does everything you want and can be used in any DAW or VST3 host as it's a VST3 and is not a DAW solution

Now sure why you are throwing a temper tantrum over something that is literally the exact solution you stated you were looking for

Perhaps in the future you should be more specific regarding your requests for information and then people will answer in the way you want. But until then just be a jerk, I love that for you and I am so sorry I gave you a solution that was exactly what you stated you wanted

I’m pretty invested in this thread. Why does OP not like the Cubase solution? That’s crazy it can be used in any daw, I wouldn’t have guessed.

But why does OP want to use it in another DAW if they are a diehard Cubase user? Is it for someone else? Is OP experimenting with other daws and doesn’t want to admit it?

Why did OP seemingly ignore several other examples that meet all their criteria? Did the CIA make a plot to kill rock music and succeed? All good questions I hope we get answers to.
