this is my favourite amp sim, i find myself using it a lot more than my j-station... good basic clean-ish tone that's a good start for a lot of dirtier sounds. Use Buz or the Simulanalog DS-1 too and you're in grunge heaven (think Mudhoney, some of Neil Younds Weld-era sounds etc.)

the new Korg Ampworks little modelers are dirt cheap and sound great. They build all the processing for the Vox valvetone amps (actually Korg owns Vox). Worth checking out anyways, i know they aren't free, but they sound killer, and can be used live, or also with headphone for practicing.
