They're not supposed to match, they are variation presets (child presets). Please just drop them into the folder with all of the other sounds from your piano collection and then in ST2 you will see them associated with your original sounds under the black arrows. You do have to know how the whole parent/child sound thing works but if you have ST2 XL then you should know already from experience.spikey wrote:OK- HEEEELLLPP~~~!![]()
Under the piano collection folder for example, there is an stip file called "Antique Upright.stip"....
Squids, you tell me to put this file right next to the STI, STH and STW files you have inside your sound folder. But I dont have any Antique Upright sti, sth or stw files in the piano folder!?
In fact- None of these free stips match any of the ST2 files... What am i missing here?
Am i supposed to have all the sti, stw and sth files for the free downloads from just owning ss1,ss2 and ST2xL?? Same thing with the guitar and other collections downloaded from the ez (free) site. Please advise....

Oh, well that would be a problem! No worries though. Yeah, these are for ST2 owners that also had the corresponding eROMS (the version 1 that was originally only ST1 format) of any of the SR titles:spikey wrote:Sorry i waited your time Squids... I dont own any of the old eroms...
OmniSynth
Piano Collection
Guitar Collection
Bass Collection
Acoustic Drums
Symphony Strings
Note: If you own the new Expansion Tank versions of these titles then you ALREAYD HAVE these "Stip" presets and don't need to download them again. This is ONLY for those that have BOTH ST2 LE (or L or XL) -AND- the OLD versions of the above titles that were previously only in ST1 format. These additional FREE presets give previous users of the ST1 format libraries some updates taking advantage of ST2 programming. A gift from us (we also don't like to leave anyone behind).

Thank-You Squids for the sounds. I haven't been posting much lately, much has been happening in my life both musical and "other". While installing these new "stips" etc. I noticed that I have a child in my piano folder called "The Elt Is On.stip" which never shows up in my pianos folder (I'm just going to assume it's for piano). Any ideas about this???
Here's to a great New Year people, stay safe.....it can be nasty out there.
Kindest Regards

Any STIPS that don't match up won't work. They only work in the new Expansion Tank version due to a modified parent sound that is in it. A few patches is probably not much to miss. But, if anyone wants to upgrade to the new full discs it is only $15. to get everything (honestly, in the case of Piano Collection it isn't worth it really but with Acoustic Drums, Symphony Strings and OmniSynth it could be).Rainman wrote:Thank-You Squids for the sounds. Well, I'm feeling a bit like a Bozo. I'd separated a number of instruments into separate folders, i.e. Piano, Electric Piano etc. and of course didn't match up the appropriate stips, when I re-combined all my pianos, viola, I now have a gazillion parent/child pianos. Same goes for brass and winds which I'd separated as well.
Squids, e-soundz has a well rounded representation of instruments, there are piano, bass, drum, gutar and now synths (with Sonic Synth) but nothing particularly dedicated to brass/horns/winds etc. Anything planned?? I know there are the "Brit Horns" and that is tempting, but anything from your shop, you guys always seem to get it "just right"

Excellent!!!! I'm starting to gear up for some new stuff, looking forward to the horns. Gotta get Sonic Synth also while I'm at it. First however (and I know I'm not the only one) must address the bar tab AKA Christmas.

They go into the same folder you installed the original EROM to. For instance, if you installed the original Piano Collection to c:\IK Multimedia\SampleTank\SampleTank Instruments\Piano Collection, then you just copy the updated Piano Collection .stip files into that folder.spikey wrote:What about the folders with stip files only in them?
Like the piano, guitar, omnisynth, etc... Where do they go inside ST2 to become playable?

I found the link to purchase the upgrade eproms. Are these the entire set of sounds, or just the updates? I'm not quite clear on this. I own the Piano set, does this mean I can get the Symphony strings eprom for $15, or just the Piano upgrade for $15?
