Owners of the original SampleTank 1 LE versions of the SR "eROMS" like Symphony Strings, Piano Collection, Guitar Collection, Acoustic Drums and Bass Collection can now download the ST2 presets we did for their version 2 releases as "Expansion Tank" titles. Of course, you have to own SampleTank 2 LE, L or XL to be able to use them! But, if you do then you are in luck because these are FREE! You can get them in your member's area at www.esoundz.com (and membership is free so if you aren't a member yet then what are you waiting for? an invite? You're invitited. Go get yourself some free sounds! More coming soon too.)

You can still opt to get the CD upgrades for $15 and you do get a few extra things on some of the libraries. But, these are the "child" presets people have been asking for. Here they are!

Please note that if you already have the new Expansion Tank versions (that came with ST2 LE) these are NOT new presets and they are duplicates of what you already have so no need to bother (yet anyway). These are ONLY for the original installs of version 1 (ST1 format) SR "eROMS" of the titles mentioned above. ENJOY!

Cool... but I kinda lost interest after I realised there were over 700mb of I-Map drumkits in Sonik Synth 2.

Oh, and thanks for keeping the Hyperdrive kit in SS2! That's a #1 go-to kit for pop!

Forever,

Kim.

Oh well, that makes sorting out the stuff I had asked about recently much easier to manage.

Squids, can you explain again the difference, if any, between this download and the $15 upgrade offer from eRom to Expansion Tank versions?

Sure. The main difference is you get it all on the disc as opposed to just a download of the new child presets. In some cases there were some tweaks at the sample level but not much. The main ones that are different are the Acoustic Drums which the $15 disc has new light versions that when transposed 1 octave down conveniently fit into GM standard (this you cannot download because it takes another couple hundred megs). OmniSynth has a few crappy sounds substituted with better ones (harpsichord, flute, brass and another one perhaps). Symphony Strings was optimized for stretch a bit more with the samples. There might be a few other things. The free download really gets you most of what the new version is about but the $15 disc upgrade gives you just a little bit more in some cases and in all cases a CD back up of it.

Nice to have the options of either free or cheap though, eh?

Squids, thanks for these downloads.

There are some really beautifully implemented effects on electric guitars.

This demonstrates that the ST2 effects are top notch once you know how to program them.

Thanks! I'll download them asap.

The Omnisynth, guitar and piano collection files are all stip !?. Where do i install these? For example-Ive put the omnisynth folder in the stinstruments folder, and altho i see "OmniSynth" inside of ST2, there is nothing under it (no black arrows with snds)when clicked on... How do i use this?

I have the same question. I d/l the patches for Guitar Collection and Symphony Strings but not sure what goes where. e.g. the guitar patches are not subdivided into accoustic and electric like the collection is. Some I can deduce from the name...others not so. Will the internal I.D. link them up or do they need to be in the same sub-folder?

Oops. My fault
When uploading the new presets I neglected to separate them for Guitar Collection and Symphony Strings into their proper folders. I have re-uploaded the presets for those 2 libaries. You'll want to re-download them and install the files into the correct folders. Sorry about the error and thanks for the heads up.

What about the folders with stip files only in them?
Like the piano, guitar, omnisynth, etc... Where do they go inside ST2 to become playable?

The STIP files need to placed right next to the STI, STH and STW files you have inside your sound folder. Then hit relist in your ST2 and they should show up under the black arrows of the "parent sounds" which are the samples from the original collection.

The thing that was fixed as that the acoustic guitar STIP files (child presets) had to be specifically put into the Acoustic folder of Guitar Collection and the electric guitar STIPs into the Electric folder (the folder that has these sounds that you installed in the first place from the library). The same thing for the two subfolders on Symphony Strings.

Thank you. That helps make sense of it all.

OK- HEEEELLLPP~~~! :help:

Under the piano collection folder for example, there is an stip file called "Antique Upright.stip"....

Squids, you tell me to put this file right next to the STI, STH and STW files you have inside your sound folder. But I dont have any Antique Upright sti, sth or stw files in the piano folder!?
In fact- None of these free stips match any of the ST2 files... What am i missing here?
Am i supposed to have all the sti, stw and sth files for the free downloads from just owning ss1,ss2 and ST2xL?? Same thing with the guitar and other collections downloaded from the ez (free) site. Please advise....

Ah- rats- nevermind.... Think I understand now... These simply DONT just install into ST2 and play, without the other erom files. Im NOT a previous owner of these old eroms, so therefore i "wouldnt" have the stw sti and sth files... right?
