the biggest missing thangs.....

audio loop recording
a "self made" mixer like energyxt
a super simple router for audio as well as midi, without all the overkill (and then it doesn't work anyways) hoopla (notice I did not REPEAT did not use the "S" word)
the racks being less "latent"...I have heard some reasonable grumbling about that
Having midi vel show up ONE KEY at a time (or whatever it is called in tech jargon)

If I have stated something that is already there, let me know...... :band2:

Whatever it ends up doing, I'm sure the helicopter tool will be awesome. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get some milk.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Like, great you can now hide sections of the interface, colour stuff differently and make use of a step recording facility. I know they're releasing more each week, but does anybody else here think big deal?

How about coloured audio clips/tracks, built in destructive audio editing features (reverse, cuts etc) of clips, bouce down sections of a track, importing of grooves, creation of grooves from midi, etc.?
i agree so far, but let's see the features coming...

If you select the notes you want to see the velocity of before you switch to vel mode you see only them; if you haven't selected any you see all... Or did i misunderstand your problem?

I hope only missing for now. The haven't told us all by far yet (i hope).

I'll upgrade for sure, but there's not much I need in the first batch.

Hi all tracktioneers!
I'm nothing but excited about this weekly strip tease!
but ...
How much does it cost?
I think this marketing strategy is a way to make more acceptable an high price: if they put a long page with all the features, many of us would have focused on the price before reading all the list, and if it's a 299$ or more, started complaining about this.
With the strip, they let us the time to discover all the features, thus we can better realize how much T2 is valuable, and justify an high price.

My 2 euro cents

Getting interesting, for sure! :)

One of the key things I'm hoping for is an end to the "note-dropping bug" that has vexed so many of us.

I mean when you copy/paste MIDI clips, and the first 16th note of bar one in ReWire client appliucations that currently gets lost...

I expect the bugs WILL be fixed, but I doubt very much that bug-fixes will be listed in the weekly-strip-tease. Only important new features. 8)

Maybe Ben/Jules could therefore humour us by confirming whether this bug has been squashed or not?

Waitasec... I only responded to one of these before, but I just noticed a few others--

Coloured audio clips are already there. See the colour fader in the middle of your screen when a clip is selected?

Basic destructive audio editing is also there... not sure about the others, but I use 'cut' all the time. Position the cursor and press '/'. Bouncing down sections of a track is also easily done... set your in and out markers, and when you render, render 'only between selected regions' and 'only selected clip'.

Heh!

:D

yep, that is a cool feature, but i'd like to see the 'reverse' in the new version too, it's such a pain in the **** that you can't do that...

Post

You can do reverse in T1. Off the top of my head i think you need to go to the projects screen to do it, not at a comp with T at the moment.

So half the things he requested can already be done.

It can be done from the edit screen, but there's one extra (in my opinion, unecessary, which will hopefully be addressed) step. The extra step comes because you have to reverse the entire audio file at once, instead of just bits and pieces. SO--

I record a guitar, all in one take. Then I decide that I want only the chorus chords to be reversed. I click the clip, select "view source info" at the bottom, and then "edit audio file". I reverse it, but BAM, the entire thing is reversed, so my verse chords are now backwards, too.

The workaround (the extra unecessary step) is to isolate the part you want reversed, then render just that area to its own audio file. Afterwards, reverse away!

..

A lot of this stuff is in the quickstart guide or other help files.

I am not sure.......let me be more clear and maybe that will help.
Let's say you wanted to change velocity of just kick parts for example. It always seems that although I can select specific key notes, I cannot isolate just that velocity. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Yes.

Select a clip, select a note (or group of notes), they turn red (the notes you dont want should still be yellow), press v.

Easy.
