just one more querie I have!

Im trying to automate, cutoff, res, attack, decay etc but its not updating the paramater names.., am I doing something wrong?

After expanding track I select the knob on the left then I go controllers but it gives me the same paramater naming for every synth??
Try automating this using the "A" in the upper right corner of the track.
Click on it and it will show all of the automatable paramaters of all plug-ins on that track.

Or, click on the "A" next to the transport buttons, Start your tune playing and tweak the parameters live as you listen to the song. It will record all of your tweaks.

Thank you all for the helpfull response. :D

This little one screen performers got the lot aint it.

 Tracktion is making a nice transition.

It would of been nicer if we didnt have to fool around by selecting the midi object on the left with the arrow pointing to the track.

I would of thought selecting the track only would wake up the VSTi?

Hope this gets fixed in T2, would look a little less kiddy without the pointing arrow IMO.

Nice one though, I would reccomend it to anyone starting out or moving on from the others who make what is easy seem very complicated and esoteric.

You can see some of the T2 features on this page.

A quick way I like is to drag the "A" from the top right of the track, and drop it onto the filter you wish to automate: the list that appears is now restricted to just that filter. 8)

Just in case you hadn't realised (I didn't at first) the automation is not tied to tracks.. any automation data for any filter can be viewed on any track!

Obviously, if you are simply automating the volume of an audio part it would probably make sense to view the data superimposed on the audio, but Tracktion gives you the freedom to create another track for it if you want.. or you can leave the volume automation on the audio track, but create a new track under it to automate an effect parameter..

Its very simple, yet very flexible: Jules is a genius! :hail:

You can also make a new empty track and automate a parameter for a vst that is on a different track. This lets you view many automation curves at the same time.

WOW! :o This sequencer is definately moving in the right direction..., and also having been backed up by Mackie gives total confidence.

Logic needs a stable computer to run on, like the costly Apple (diomands & pearls).

Tracktion does not, and behaves much like a good wife.

I dont think I'll be needing this :help: for this > Logic :hihi:

:?: :?: :?:

I take it you're not using any external MIDI hardware then.

Yes, ever since the release of Logic Discovery v.1 (8 years ago) I was using a whole stack of midi with unitor8 & sounddiver, but ever since being a vst convert (selling off all the racks) Logic was not performing very well in this realm (on pc) its too demanding.

Tracktion was like a breath of fresh air.. sigh. 8)

I too tried Tracktion, but I still use a lot of MIDI hardware so it didn't cut it for me.

I also like Logic's plugins and synths. Still with 5.5 and so far, I haven't found an app that can replace it.

If you're happy with Traction, you should grab the free version if it's still available.

Don't think it is I'm afraid.. but it might be time for you to take another look soon, as T2 is loomig on the horizon..

If by "dead end" you mean it will never be updated, then yes, of course I know it.

But it's still a very powerfull sequencer and I haven't found anything else that even comes close in terms of features, ease of use, and control of MIDI.

I'm open to suggestions though, but I think Tracktion has a long way to go before it replaces Logic - for me that is.

I don't think Tracktion is bad - in fact I think it's very good. It's just not right for me.
