Unfortunately this is still an unresolved issue. We are in conatct with NI and we hope to have an answer soon.

Motu Mach5 working anytime soon? even unsupported? it's the same engine as Atmosphere right?, so maybe not too long?
Mach5 uses an iLok and because of that it cannot be installed via the unsupported process. It is on our list and I hope that we will be able to support it soon, but right now I don't know if or when exactly.

Yes, I know this problem Rusty...

This is one of reasons I resell mine.

I had take a Open Labs OMX (Rack model) and all plugins work without problem...

But:
Open Labs OMX64 1.4GHz
Our Price: $2,895.00
List Price: $3,495.00

Open Labs OMX64 2.0GHz
Our Price: $3,479.99
List Price: $4,095.00

Open Labs OMX64 2.0GHz
Our Price: $5,595.00
List Price: $6,495.00

I wouldn't change my RECEPTOR. and it looks much cooler that the openlabs-boxes
(our price = Musician's Friend prices

Yes, but the OMX64 LE 1.4 GHz is listed to $2195 (MSRP)

And you can't compare the power. OMX is really really more stronger. 64-bit is over the AMD XP of Receptor.

I have the both, I can compare. I had tried with the same plugin on the both config and play the same legato chord, when the Receptor is arround 50/60 % of CPU use and sometimes give me some pops, clics, etc... the OMX64 is only arround 15 %

But you're right, the Receptor looks much cooler that OMX64... but the look doesn't mean all my criterions for me.

Do you perform live? If you do, I would be curious to know if you find that the OMX64 gives you what you need for live performance.

Second question: how do they compare sonically? We put a lot of effort into sound quality and many customers told us that the sound quality is outstanding.

Personaly, I'm satisfy for live performance.

But of course, I think the Receptor with LCD display, buttons and a standalone working is really good. That was the reason I bought one.

The sound is good. For me the sound of Receptor is good too, but I had sometimes pops and clics, even with plugins installed with the machine.

Secondly, I had problem to upgrade Receptor. Even with respect all norms, I hadn't upgrade the memories and use DiskStreaming for big sample playing (Gig).

Other point, I will so much problem to use some plugin in the debut. I can't wait until plugorama release the plugin I need to use.

With OMX64 I had no problem with RAM upgrade, second bigger HD and/or plugin install.

For me the best product would be a rack 3U, with the frontpanel of Receptor, the inside of OMX64, running on stable OS but without the system of plugin install method from receptor.

That's my personal point of view... (my 2 cents)

BTW, sorry for my english

Pops and clicks will almost always be a result of CPU overloading. Inceasing the RAM from 256 will improve performance.

wow, reading this list sort of kills of my interest, too.

Yes there is a cross grade price for NI products, that information is available on Plugorama.com.

As of the 1.1 update Atmosphere, Stylus and Trilogy work on receptor. In house we have a working version of Stylus RMX. As for Motu Mach5 I have seen it installed but it had some bugs on Receptor that would require development time. Our goal is to provide much boarder support for premium plugs and we are very busy doing just that very thing.

Just add me to the list of people that would have bought Receptor if it supported any of my plug ins. As a Waldorf Edition, Komplete 2 ( plus Komplete Care ), Uh-He Filterscape and Zebra, Pluggo owner........ on a mac, I'm completely unsupported. :(

Well,..... I think Microrock Pro and Harp Time Fun might work, along with PSP Vintage Warmer.

I really like the idea, but until Komplete 2 is supported, I can't justify it, not with laptops being the same price basically, and honestly, next year laptops will probably hit 4Ghz., and run all of these in Ableton Live 5.....

Sad part is if Komplete 2 were supported I would have already bought one, considering the speed of powerbooks right now, you guys need to work with NI on this big time.
Also work with Steinberg on getting the Waldorf plug ins, PPG 23, Attack and D-Pole. This would guarantee Waldorf owners a sale, XP/OSX upgrades could kill the Waldorf line, while you guys probably wouldn't do that.
