Tracktion's freeze mixes down everything into a single file, so freezing audio tracks does relieve stress from your hard drive. Or at least, that's what I've been led to believe from reading this forum. I don't actually use audio much myself, and my hard drive is plenty fast enough for what I do, so I'm not speaking from personal experience here.

Warmonger's right. If you freeze 16 stereo files, your machine will now only have to play back one..

This is what we would lose if freezing still allowed volume adjustments or further filters to be added.

Ok, I learned another thing then... I always thought (hmmm, assumed :oops: ) it would keep one audio file per frozen track.

if you had used the tracktionsampler on a track of the song, maby this is the reason. it has a bug on overlapping notes with the same results you described.
