You can sort of go this way with the Devine Machine LiveSync Recorder.

I would really like to see a new version of that plug-in, with a selectable record bit depth option, instead of just creating 16 bit audio files as it currently does.

It's hard to rant about something that's free, but some kind of sync with the MIDI or Audio signal would be nice, and some kind of VU meter or at least signal indicator would be nice. VU meter from Elephant [RMS] with a clip indicator maybe :P ? OTOH, I love it, I love Aleksey's GUI's, so simple and nice looking and everything is neat and works flawlessly.

Cheers and Thank you Aleksey, very useful plugin.

That's a lot of features for v1.1. :)

danVe, do you mean you want simultaneous IO plug-in (I.e. not exactly multi-channel)? I'll think about adding such functionality. As for auto start feature, I won't be implementing one at this time. Moreover, such IO plug-in will have different latencies every time you start the playback as it is impossible to sync its action with sequencer as VST has no means of syncing audio processing to acutal audio output.

akisd28, sample rate is selected according to the host's sample rate. Otherwise this cannot work and will require resampling which is a hassle to do in real-time.

Cannot understand your ideas about bar looping, or detect loop end/rename file.

For now I'll add these:
1. Skip leading silence.
2. Stop after XX seconds of silence (Silence threshold included)
3. Resume after stop option - should be good for recording 'experimentations' with instruments and vocals - this will record the actual performance only, skipping all pauses.

I must confess I haven't tried it yet, but does the start/stop button has automation? That way you could easily set a start and stop point in your sequencer's timeline and there isn't any need for an auto start feature.

OK, I tried it. You can't automate the start/stop button. Still a great plugin. Thanks Aleksey! :D

hello aleksey,

what i mean - is it would be nice to have a plugin that could read from the stereo or monoinput of an mme device and pass that signal out of the plugin's outputs. at the same time it should be able to pass audio entering the plugins inputs to the outputs of an mme device. it would not need to be multi channel per say, when i said multi channel i ment it in a different way,,, as in handling more than one audio stream at once.

if the function i just described could be enabled as soon as the plugin starts,, it would be great. i don't understand why this function can not be happening at start by default.

cheers!!

Holy shit! I completely forgot that I bought that plugin!

Thanks for reminding me!

I am just happy to have this so that I can get a mixdown of certain plugins that refuse to do so properly. This may just save my sanity. Thank you very much Aleksey. And that goes for all your freebies.

Now all it needs is playback controls and a song position control. 8)

Thanks a lot for Recorder Aleksey!!!

I'll add a clipping indicator.

danVe, OK, I'll see if I can implement something like that. For audiocard IO autostart is possible. Autostart is impossible for file IO as this can grow files over the limits (at least in Cubase which always processes audio, even when transport is not used).

Great!! You RULE dude!!!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

No, I'm ROCK :)

that too~

I'm having a bit of trouble with getting a signal that isn't delayed when outputting to MME. I've tried every buffer setting but they all do it? Any suggestions?

Post

Branst, I think it is impossible to get a non-delayed sound with this approach.
