Recorder is an utility PC VST plug-in which allows you to record the output of the track or bus into the stereo WAV file of specified bit depth. Routing to MME (multimedia extensions) soundcard is also supported.

A note on website service interruption which happened yesterday. This interruption was not expected, but due to a higher than overall interest in Voxengo products (hence a higher download rate) it happened nevertheless.
We at Voxengo are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you and would like to thank you for your patience.
Meanwhile, we are planning to move our website to a more reliable dedicated server in the next 30 days. Hopefully this won't cause any long service interruption.
Thank you for your continuing support!

Sweet. Thank you.
I know it's not polite to comment on a free gift, but: would it be possible to sync recording to e.g. a MIDI signal? And to generate unique filenames for each subsequent recording?

I had not thought it thru this far yet, only about starting it when there's a MIDI signal, because I'm to lazy to edit the wav-file to trim the silence. Stopping / starting recording several times triggered by MIDI events would probably be too much for me. (too much = not used).Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Hans, what kind of sync do you mean? Program change or what? Also, do you want for recording to stop and start with a new name on this MIDI event?
btw. instead of MIDI, just starting to record when there's a signal coming in could be nice too.
My use for this plugin would be to record several tracks to several wave files in parallel, and manually starting the recording will result in lots of silence in all the waves.

yeah, this would be a nice addition:HansM wrote:..instead of MIDI, just starting to record when there's a signal coming in could be nice too.
beside an AUTORECREADY with autonormalized RECvolume
AUTOSTART => with the first sound
AUTOEND => after X seconds of silence (adjustable)
would avoid stress with volumeadjusting, starting, stopping,
wavcleaning, ... .
anyhow - THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
will check if this new
piece will kick the actual freebee
leader SILVERSPIKE TAPIT
out of the field.

would it be possible to make this a multichannel plugin, where there would be another set of stereo outputs from "Recorder" that would be able to send out data from stereo inputs on an mme device? this way the plugin could also be used as a sort of i/o plugin for patching outboard gear into vst projects.
would be GREAT. also an important note: a version like this would be better off with the status set to "running", so that if you are using a lot of the plugin, it is not a chore to go to each one and press start when you reload a project.

Aleksey, how do you set the sample rate of the output file? Also, regarding the sync feature, I think it would be nice if there was an option to record what's between the sequencer's locators.

That would be nice. (And it's good summary of what I actually wanted to askAleksey Vaneev wrote:'Skip leading silence' option would be fairly easy to implement.
btw. There's also a commercial plugin that records inside a sequencer, Silverspike's Tape-It...

in addition to above comments:
would it be possible to implement sort-of loop recording with incremental file renaming and options to choose 1/2/4/8 bar looping
and (if possible) - if somebody has higlighted loop region on host transport (tranceport!) - to autodetect when loop playback rewinds and cut/increment rename recording accordingly?
plus auto-fix dc offset, take care of transients, auto tube-warming, normalising, declicking, hum&hiss removing, auto fix non-zero cross bad loops etc etc.
thad would be sexy, innit?
