The kicks gain reduction is over 16dB !!!!! If you really can't hear that it's time to learn how to hear a compressor. The original kick sound in the 4 first bars is looooooooooooooooooooong, after that it get's extremely SHort and snappy. :) I guess this demo works as a ear trainer. Also, check out the .wav maybe mp3 screws it up? (not on my system though, I hear it clearly in the mp3 too but I made the snippet so I can't give a fair comparison).

Cheers!

I hear that it's boosted the gain and shortened the decay, but what is it that you think makes this worth paying for?

The net is FULL of excellent free compressors.

Well, just go download the demo and decide for yourself. :) I have yet to find any other compressor that does the radical "shaping" of compadre. It's compressor part is quite agressive and definately has a sound of it's own. I know there are a lot of good free compressors but none sound like compadre. Does it sound better? I'd say it sounds DIFFERENT enough to be worth it.

Yeah, sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm underwhelmed. The glance verb on the other hand is really nice, and free!

Great GFX, no doubt about that.

Bmanic, when will you learn. This is THE wrong forum for that.

Also, you're demoing the smack & slam compressor of the year with 'that pansy subtle 3dB nonsense' as someone aptly put it. You might see 16db of gain reduction on the meters but you of all people should know that it has little or nothing to do with the sound you're working on.

Remember the audience you're trying to seduce...

championrabbit & soma..

The best (only!) way of getting an idea how a plug-in performs, and if it's something that suits your taste, is by downloading the demo and trying it out on your own system with your own material.

I think what he means is we expected to hear some Big Punchy Beats..not a compressed kick drum.

No.. duh, you all got it totally wrong it seems. I don't think even compadre is the best compressor around for crunching full beats. I demoed exactly what I use compadre for, namely SHAPING single percussive sounds. :?

Kingston, are you denying that the flabby original kick sound didn't change at all??? YOU of all people should hear it very well indeed and also, no, it's not even close to subtle. I did the girlfriend test.. she spotted it in the whole mix, immediately. Everything except the bass. Oh well.. at least I tried to show what Compadre can do. If people are expecting the UBER mega compressor that squeezes the hell out of a drumloop then compadre can definately do that too but so can many other compressors. Where compadre excells IMO is the way you can radically shape sounds.

Ok, this thread is over.

Its over when we say it is! :x

I didn't say anything along those lines, I was merely critisising your demo approach. In this forum anything subtle will mostly go unnoticed.

Especially when you know this is the case you have to show it to people. You know full well our meaning of radical is wine tasting territory in KVR.

well DUH yeh it seems we have.

the plugin is called beatpuncher, I guess thats what many wanted to hear.

but hey WTF do us lot know eh

Bmanic,

People actually seem to like your compressor but you still need to do 2 things to help yourself here:

1. Give a demo that shows it mashing the utter crap out of something. People seem to prefer this kind of thing in a a demo, show what it can do when cranked up!

2. Drop the slight attitude at people making suggestions. To tell your own potential customers that they are wrong is really pretty poor if you want people to like you and your product/s.

Just give us a savage demo and most people will be happy! :)
