I asked Jules and he said things to me But ... anyways we can make drums in the new t2 easier so just relax children. It's not FLSTUDIO or whatever god

I can imagine what Jules would have liked to say to you. But I'm sure he was very diplomatic.

If you're trying to insinuate you have inside information that the rest of us aren't privy to just to make yourself look special, I just got to say, that's pretty pathetic.

I don't have an inside scoop but I did adddress my concerns and it feels like it will come out that drum programming will in fact be easier now. It's not FLSTUDIO but no one wants flstudio anyways

I come from FL and I think that step editor is the single best thing in FL.but I would accept even cubase-like drum editor in T2. as dnb producer I spend too much time making drums.

I have to say that the inclusion of a good drum editor in T2 would be the single biggest improvement for me. Being able to see the names of the drums you're programming is NOT a trivial matter when it comes to productivity. I do hope Beno chimes in here... this is perhaps the most important aspect of T2 from my own personal standpoint.

i just tried zooming the keyboard scale up to full so that i could see how far in it would zoom. i was originally planning to jokily say zoom in and have just one key per track, and rename your tracks, but obviously that is an extremely flawed jape.

however, when i tried drawing with the pencil tool at this level, i was astonished that anyone can have ANY kind of difficulty with using this as a drum programming roll.. you click and a note appears in that block corresponding to zoom level.. and it's quite a square block because the height is quite big. i can't imagine finding this kind of thing clunky!

i'm sure any of T2's improvements should be more than enough for even the most ardent moaner!

When I'm being creative with my own ideas I would tend to agree: Tracktion's other benefits far outweigh this disadvantage. At work however, time is money, and the only thing that matters is the speed with which I can get the drumbeat on the audio file I'm listening to programmed as MIDI. Cubase's drum editor beats the pants off any piano roll in this respect.

It is a piano roll after all.. having got used to an editor specifically designed for drums it seems very inefficient and slow to me to use an editor designed for chords and melodies, like trying to enter a melody in Cubase's grid editor..

A dedicated drum editor with the functions that platinumears mentioned would be most welcome for creating drum/ percussion parts more easily.

Being able to mute/ solo per lane is very useful.

With either the drum editor or the piano roll, I will most certainly need T2's new Pants tool as well.
